Ordered take out on a Saturday I get the short staffed situation for some restaurants but I feel like the Catfish was taken out of the freezer pre made and heated up in the microwave or oven. The sides were again re used likely from another shift and lacked flavor honestly...

Monitors continue to short out and I can't really grasp the lack of a physical menu offered... Or least a back up.. and it's better to just come in than order online cause the food you get in person is warmer than through door dash or something else ..

Came here @ 8:20pm on Friday 12/27 night. Place looked deserted. Thought was closed. Padlock on door and chairs stacked on table. The website states open til 11:00pm.
Went inside , saw a short dumpy woman. I said I’m new in town can you , what you want! Well, I’d like the whiting. I’m not sure if I have time to cook it. I said, you close at 11 right? Yeah, what time is it! What sides do you have? She pointed past me and said the sides menu is over there. She went to the back, yelled at me from the back, we have no whiting. I named 3 sides, she said we don’t have that. There was so much more to this conversation. She truly pissed me off. Rude for no reason. I left without saying a word. Nobody was in there. Not one person. I had a few friends go there and they didn’t like the service or food. She needs to be let go. I’m never in favor of people being let go but she has NO CUSTOMER service skills. NONE. I will not visit again and tell my friends not to either. No reason to be so ugly & mad because you had to work. Not like you were working hard. Nobody was in there. 😡

Today is my first time here. I heard the hype on the radio. Their menu board was not working so once you paid that’s when you found out how much your food was. The food did not look that good and it could be that what was up was sitting for a while. They brought out some fresh chicken and greens and it looked more appealing. The staff doesn’t tend to the dining area. The tables were nasty and we cleaned them before sitting down. Also the sun beams through the glass. They don’t have blinds to block it so it was hard to enjoy sitting in the location. I ordered the turkey wing dinner with collards and green beans. The turkey wing was good and tender. The rice was overcooked mush. The green beans were canned and over seasoned. The collards were ok and had a bit of sweet and spice. The cornbread was not good to me. It was too sweet and had a mushy texture. Overall, for the price, it’s not worth it to me.

None I mean none of the food was covered Ames literally watched flies land on everything! Go see what flies do as soon as they land it’s disgusting! How are you missing the mark here!! What a great opportunity just abandoned! So frustrated trying to give back to community and almost always experiencing bad service bad food!!!

I guess the hype is gone! I never want to post anything bad about a black owned business. But I got to in hope they will do better. I ordered a veggie plate. Cabbage, Mac and cheese and black eyed peas. The Mac and cheese taste sour! I threw it back up out my mouth. Either it was old or they used sour milk. Just nasty. Black eyed peas taste just like salt. I like my food season, but this was ridiculous. But the cabbage didn’t have any seasoning???? I totally disappointed. I don’t know what happened to this place, but new management got to step in before this place gets closed down. It’s no way you can stay in business serving this type of food for them prices. You are in a prime location. You got to do better. This is not an attack on your business. This is a wake up call.

Went in twice and there weren't many people there, but it took forever to be served so I left. The last time I came in I saw the food server go outside and came back in about 5 minutes later with the same gloves on. Then she begins to touch on the to go boxes. I thought that was an unsanitary practice. I won't be back. I was hoping to like this place, but they did not meet any of my expectations.

The dressing had clumps and hard pieces throughout. Not crispy but literally hard as a rock pieces. Black eye peas were seasoned good. The full menu not available for certain dishes. Peach cobbler over $11 for a personal size. I gave service 1 star because why are you serving inedible food.

There was barley any food and maybe 2 other people with a wait. Kid just put whatever he wanted on my plate and didn't ask what options i wanted. Rice had fallen on the counter and he dusted from the counter back into the rice pan. There is no signage for prices or what they're supposed to have and the food was very mid or overly salted/sweetened. Like why is the cabbage that sweet? There was an overly plastic wrapped/melted and weirdly sweetened cornbread. First and last time here.

I walked in around 8pm. I advised the server that I would ordering 3 3 piece chicken dinners($20 a plate). She proceeded to ask what prices did I want. Before I could tell her, she told me what prices she could give me. So, I told her what I wanted again. The response that she gave, felt as if I was bothering her. So I proceeded to leave. I never get that feeling when I walk in. I just can't get past being treated so rudely and paying . They just lost a customer!

I truly appreciate their food. They are very generous with their portions! It really tasted like homemade soul food. I went back a second time, and it's not close to me. The peach cobbler is not too sweet. The favor is to die for. 🙏🏽

The Rib Tips were tender for me. Not so much for my Son's order. Rib Tips were chewy. BBQ sauce was too sweet and without the tanginess. Ordered yams, I received cabbage. Service was nice. As it was our first time they were patient. Oh, Peach cobbler is really really sweet! Would order Rib Tips again as mine were good. It is truly hard to find good Rib Tips as most BBQ restaurants don't have them!
