First time eating here. Seemed a little sketchy because the building is so run down and I had to drive through mud puddles to get to the drive thru. But…the BBQ was excellent. Definitely recommend!

I hate BBQ. To the point where my family jokes about it.That being said. I was taking a trip to purchase something out of Hilliard Florida and had to stop to buy windshield wipers at O'Reilly's. When I got out of the car the smell was so good that I had to ask the people inside what it was. They told me it was the restaurant across the street called Jalen's BBQ. I conferred with my friend and we decided to eat lunch there.The people from O'Reilly's suggested the loaded fries, I was in more of a mood for a sandwich, so I got the sandwich, collard greens and potato salad. My friend got the sandwich and the half order of loaded fries. The food was absolutely amazing. The only disappointing thing about the visit was the fact that they do not sell their mustard-based sauce. It is not yet bottled for sale, that is a problem they are remedying at the moment.The portions were huge. The only thing I would have liked some more of was the potato salad but then I wouldn't have been able to finish everything else.

All around good food and good ppl. Nasty good food ,if u know what I mean. Our favorite here or anywhere when it comes to good home cooking and bbq. Me and my wife has ate all over the south and still Jalens holds the torch. Thanks u guys for keeping it the way it's been since u started. Ps. Try the black bottom fry's and be careful bc they will make u want to go home and slap your mama. LolKid-friendliness: Ofcourse

Great pulled pork sandwiches! Slaw was also fresh and tasty, hot fresh French fries. Bbq sauce is mustard based, it really goes well with the pork!
