A rare gem located in downtown Forsyth. Some of the best New Orleans style food east of the Big Easy.Personal service, our order was taken at our outside table by the Chef.Good beverage selection to accompany your meal.Forsyth is worth a stop if you're close by and if you're looking to satisfy a craving for some good southern style cuisine; sit yourself down at one of the French Markets tables. You won't e disappointed.
Wheelchair accessibility: Concrete ramps up from the sidewalk.
I have noticed that things seem to be lacking here. There were two menu items that were no longer being served but were still on the menu. I ordered a hamburger that came to the table with no tomato or lettuce. The burger itself was a bit overdone. My side was vegetables. I could not believe it when they brought me out mixed FROZEN vegetables and not fresh ones. Not at a place where I am paying well over $20 for a plain hamburger. Service was very pleasant but my group waited awhile to get our food (not waitresses fault) and the restaurant was not crowded. The wait staff was very pleasant and accommodating, but as this is the second such experience, I am making another restaurant choice.
Hello,I went today to the location for the first time. We got there and upon being greeted, we asked the server how they were doing and they stated “over worked and under paid”. We just laughed it off hoping she was just having a bad day. We than asked about the mimosas and they stated they only had enough for 2 pours but asked if we still wanted to do bottomless, which we said no of course because it wasn’t going to be bottomless. It took 40min for us to get our food even though there were only 4 parties of 2 or less there and a person who got there after us received their food before us. We had ordered the stuffed French toast and the LG. The server informed us after we had ordered that there was not any pre made cream cheese however, they did have regular cream cheese so they could use that if I was ok with it, which I was. However, she came out 5 minutes before the food came and told us that they actually had no cream cheese and I would just be getting plain French toast with fruit and bacon. I didn’t want to wait any longer so I went along with it. She brought out literally just French toast and bacon. We asked where the fruit was and it took her another 10min to bring the fruit out. During this we found that the “green tomatoes” were actually red tomatoes and they had gone bad, they were clearly lumpy and white. The whole experience was awful.
Over all, really happy with the food and service. Young lady named Jasmine was very nice and accommodating throughout the meal. Bourbon barrel burger was good as well. Went on a Wednesday evening and there was only a few inside. Would recommend for good food and drinks along with great service.
My husband and I have dine here a few times since we moved here. We try to get something different every time. We have not been disappointed. The atmosphere is great and we always have Angie serving us. She is awesome! Always greeting us and giving suggestions. Very friendly and great conversations! If you have not gone I would recommend it! Support our small business!
It’s a very cute little friendly restaurant. Our waiter (Angie) was the best waiter I’ve ever had. I felt instantly at home and I never felt judged! The food was amazing, I got the jambalaya and it was so fresh and filling. My boyfriend had the Alfredo, just as good. But all in all wonderful service and im definitely coming back more than once after this!
I hate having to rate so low on a restaurant that has mass potential. I want to start with the service.... The waitress was phenomenal. She was helpful and attentive with a wonderful personality. The atmosphere was very nice but it was a tad cold. The issue I have is price of the food. While the food was good, it wasn't good enough to justify the prices. The burgers have nice hand made patties but even with that, that are overpriced. I love gourmet burgers and have had more than I want to admit. If the price was pulled down a little, it would be goos in taste and value. The boudin balls were good but had almost no sausage in them, mostly rice.Again, tons of potential but price prohibitive at the moment. Top notch staff though!
About a month ago I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The staff, Emily and Angie provided very good service. I had the Jambalaya and it was prepared perfectly by chef Otis Brown. The next time I am traveling thru, I will exit 75 for another great dinning experience.
My Wife and I went here for dinner when we stopped in Forsyth for a one night stay on our way to the Smoky Mountains. We didn't want fast food, so we google searched the area, saw this place and decided to try it. We were glad we did!! Service was good. Food was very good. Our waitress and who we think was the owner, explained and answered some questions we had about the local area. Very nice people and atmosphere.
I had the LG open faced sandwich. Has a fried green tomato, fried egg, bacon, and avocado. It was very good. Price $15 which isn’t bad if they would lower the cost of drinks. A glass of sweet tea was 2.95 and a cup of coffee $2.95. Also should offer more than coffee like expresso and latte. I have a nice machine at home that does it and it’s easy to use so I know it would be worth the cost.

We stopped in for a quick bite on the way home from leaf peaking in North GA. What an awesome experience! Angie was amazing. Great Turkey smoked guda sandwich with fried okra. Had a couple of local beers one IPA, one milk stout. Both were great. I nana out quick since Angie knew time was of the essence! Food was good, customer service was amazing and nice place to stretch your legs and shop on the way home.
The food was out of this world delicious! They have the best French onion soup that I have ever eaten. The only thing better then the food was the people and their warm, friendly service. Miss Angie and Emily were were wonderful.
Angie was great, even though the restaurant was short staffed in the kitchen, she handled the Patons with kindness warmth and southern charm. I will be back. You should visit too!
Had a great relaxing diner tonight. Server Angie was fun and knew her craft to perfection. We enjoyed the great food and friendly atmosphere.
The food was amazing!!!!! We loved the shrimp and grits with salmon and the shrimp pasta was made with a great creole seasoning taste! Angie did a awesome job as our waitress! Can’t wait to come back! If you are looking for a nice southern Cajun restaurant definitely try here!!!
