If you've never been to Berens, your missing out! It's important to note, they make their ice cream fresh, daily, so they only carry three fresh flavors; Vanilla, Chocolate, and a flavor of the day. And while you can get other flavors that are packaged in pints in their fridge, you can't beat fresh custard! My family loves this place, and we will continue to visit for years to come.

The ice cream was good, but I suppose something was just bothering me that I wanted to share. Working today was one female and one male employee, both probably teenagers. They both were not rude in any way, but the hour I was there, neither of them had a smile on their face at any point. What bothered me the most was the female employee had a few of her friends sitting at a table inside the shop. Nothing is wrong with that, besides they were distracting her from doing her job, and one of her friends kept walking around with his hands in the front of his pants.. then touching everything around him, which is absolutely disgusting. Also, the female employee left her male coworker to work/clean alone a few times while she sat with her friends chatting. I have and still do work in a small dessert shop, so I understand wanting to have your friends around, but there is also a time and place for everything. If any employee is going to have friends here while they are working, it needs to be a situation where they are not taking up space for customers or making customers uncomfortable. Otherwise, service was okay, and so was the ice cream.

Frozen custard shouldn't taste this good 😊. The young lady that took my order was so professional. She greeted us with a warm smile and a pleasant hello. On 11/08/25 at 305pm my brother and I and his son stopped by to enjoy some frozen custard. I'm from Charlotte NC and my brother that resides in Georgia bragged about how good this place is. Well he was right. I had a milkshake and it was perfect. The atmosphere was perfect. The store was clean. The outside was debris free and the tables were clean and well stocked with napkins.
I love Berens, the frozen custard is so yummy and thick. The turtle frozen custard is amazing. Such a friendly, chill neighborhood spot.

The greatest ice cream of all time. No comparison, family owned for over 50 years I'm pretty sure, the owner Mark Berens is a genuinely good guy, and he has something truly special here. Only daily flavors are chocolate and vanilla with a new third flavor that changes every day. They also do shakes, banana splits, and concretes, if you haven't been here, you have to try it at least once.

I ordered the brownie hot fudge sundae with vanilla custard. The brownie pieces tasted home made, loved it! Although I wish it had more hot fudge.
