Food proportions were huge and served amazingly quick. The salsa bar was a unique take on chips and salsa for your table. Wait staff was short as lunch rush arrived we saw little of our server. Booths had large holes in the booth fabric and need replaced. Overall I'd say

Hesitant at first to try it but as we entered and ate, it turned out to be a pretty good Mexican-style restaurant. The food was delicious and the complimentary chips and their variety of salsas to pair were great as well! Food came out quick and tasted great! Would like to come and eat here again.

This place has delicious food! My family and I moved here from CA, and we quickly realized mexican food was not easy to find! When we found El Rey, it reminded us of home!! The food is so good, the restaurant is clean, and the servers are so kind! This is the second, which is located in Grovetown. The one in Augusta is not very good. We prefer to drive all the way out to this one .

I can only comment on the service, but as a delivery driver, the staff works hard to get the delivery drivers moving while equally attending to thier walk in customers.
Food was great, good portions and pricing was reasonable. HOWEVER they charge a fee if you don’t pay cash PLUS there was an “alcohol tax” (does not exist in Georgia) included on my bill. Would have given 5 stars if the owners could just be a little more transparent with their customers.

We stopped here on the way (we're not from around here). We love Mexican food but didn't come with lots of expectations. Wow. We really enjoyed. The place looks great visually. The salsa bar is free and generous. 3 of us ordered different tacos. They were all really good. I think the cachete was exceptional. One of kids ordered a gordita and the other a borrito, which came with home made chips. Generous portions and tasty. The service was really good as well. Highly recommended!
