I was in the mood for some soul food today and this place did not disappoint. I got the smothered pork chop with macaroni and black eyed peas as sides, and it was all really good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I originally visited this location a few weeks ago, they were sold out when I got there. Intrigued by the reviews, I went back today to try them out for the first time. A majority of the menu wasn’t ready when they opened, fine. The reason I am leaving 1 star is because on top of that my dressing had metal shavings and bones in it. I’m not a dressing connoisseur but that is dangerous and alarming. I definitely don’t plan on returning to this establishment out of fear for my safety.

Usually she cooks really good. Perhaps she has someone else cooking. I went there recently and I could not eat it. The dressing had a watery consistency not cooked all the way, cabbage too much vinegar, ho cake was bland, Mac n cheese too loose...I was shocked bc usually it is good. I just got sides bc not eating meat. I don't know what the problem was.

Food was not seasoned at all. I got the turkey wings and they were tough. The Mac and cheese needed something- no flavor. Maybe it was a bad day but this soul food was not it.

OMG!!!!!…. This is some goodness, every piece of food in this place was awesome. I live in Statesboro and I might have to come eat here at least once, twice of however many times I’m able too…. I’m so glad I stopped by here today. Mac and cheese was delicious, Cabbage, and dressing was so darn good!!!… if your thinking about trying this place out please don’t think on it any longer because I’m trying you it’s damn good. Thank you ladies for your great customer service and awesome food

Time is of the essence, people. If you say you're open at 11, I fully expect food to be out and ready at that time. This is the 2ND TIME, I've come here and nothing was ready. I called before I came and asked what time they were open. They said 11. Nothing is even on the burners. They were in the back still making mac and cheese. I left at 11:25. It's hard to patronize some businesses. Someone needs to get up earlier if you can not get your food out on time. IJS

I am full and speechless. The customer service is amazing! The food is so good I had to ask the young lady who cooked...cause somebody mama or grandma or great grandma is in that kitchen!!! The sweet potato pie is so smooth. I didn't want it to end. Go and support this business. You won't be disappointed!!!

Collards very good, oxtails very good, service was friendly and prompt. They do considerably more take out than dine in, as such, there are a few tables available if you choose to eat there but it will be from the take out containers and not on plates. Will be back to try other items when I'm in the area.

Second time coming to this place......if it ant the beauty in that place its definitely the food you bringing out of it all I can say is...
I like the food but I have to rate this place a zero. They just close whenever and don’t stick to their store hours which is beyond frustrating. To get off and come here 45 minutes before they’re supposed to close and they have already locked the doors! This the 3rd time this has happened smdh.

BEST SOUL FOOD I’VE HAD IN AUGUSTA. We have been searching for some good soul food for the last 4 years and most of it has been only ok. This place is THE BUSINESS!!!!!I got the hamburger steak over rice, collard greens, Mac and cheese, and candied yams. Everything was seasoned so well and cooked perfectly. 10/10 recommend
