Lickety Split Southern Kitchen & Bar

My friend and I ate here yesterday. It's a small restaurant with plenty of free parking in the back. It was hot and stuffy inside so next time I'll do takeout or sit on the patio. The staff were professional and welcoming. I had the fried jumbo shrimp, macaroni and cheese, and cabbage. The shrimp were very good and well seasoned. The cabbage was also really good and had smoked turkey in it. I thought the mac and cheese was just ok. It was too peppery and isn't the old school type (baked with egg). They do use more than one type of cheese, which was cool. My friend really liked the catfish, cabbage, and cornbread muffins. The prices were moderate, but fair for the portion size. Most of the menu is à la carte so an entree with two sides is about $20-$30.

Love was the freaking best! She served us and gave us the best service. The food was amazing. I had the fried pork chops, collards, and dressing and gravy. Coworkers had fried pork chops, Mac and cheese, collards and how cakes, the other had ribs, cabbages, and the Parmesan corn. All of our food was the bomb!!! I will definitely 💯 be back. I wanted to try sooo much more food.

We were only in town for 4 days/3 nights and managed to eat here every night. The food was phenomenal. The service too, even with the line out of the door. We tried the fried chicken, catfish and Cajun grilled shrimp first. Came back for the smother pork chops and turkey wing. And today had to hit the brisket before our flight tomorrow. So so good. The hoe cakes were probably my fav but the cabbage and mac definitely get an honorable mention. And can’t forget the strawberry banana pudding! Highly recommend!

While the food at Lickety Split Southern Kitchen & Bar was undeniably delicious—especially the smoked turkey with cabbage and the glazed ribs with yams and green beans—our experience was marred by an unexpected charge that left a sour aftertaste.

My mother placed two to-go orders and was not informed of a 10% server gratuity added to the bill. When I later asked for the receipt to reimburse her, I noticed the $4.60 charge labeled “server gratuity.” I called the restaurant to clarify, and the manager explained that this fee is applied to all orders, dine-in or carry-out.

While I understand tipping for table service, applying a server gratuity to takeout—without informing the customer—is questionable. If the charge is meant to compensate staff for handling to-go orders, it should be clearly disclosed at the time of purchase. Transparency matters, especially when it comes to billing.

We genuinely enjoyed the food and appreciate the kitchen’s talent, but due to the lack of communication around this automatic charge, we won’t be returning.

Visited this place for the first time and was very much impressed. Decor is cool and they have outdoor seating which is usually my preference. Friendly staff. There's a food side for ordering and opposite to it is the bar. My sister and I ordered several items since it was our first time here. Food was sooo good! Does not disappoint and I do recommend! I'll be back!

Amazing southern food. Not exactly fast, but definitely worth the wait. The sliders were amazing. And the peach cobbler. Aaron is amazing.

The restaurant was a little smoky, but it was nice and breezy out, so we sat outside.
The food was great, and those Hennessy Peach Margaritas were on Point!
