The menu has a variety of items to choose from. I haven't had anything I didn't enjoy. There are still quite a few things on the menu that I have yet to try ... and photograph. :) I recently saw the burger mentioned as a favorite by a local food critic. I still need to give it a try. You can't beat the small town, family friendly vibe that this restaurant exudes. They are prepared to handle both a family meal or a wedding and reception. I encourage you to check them out.

Based on previous reviews and pictures of food, we had high expectations. Four of us dined for lunch and were very disappointed. We all had cream of broccoli and cheese soup for appetizers, which were all lukewarm, watery and tasted ike oyster stew. Pork loin entree and fish fillets were also lukewarm and fish was undercooked. The chicken cake sandwich tasted like a salmon pattie and they forgot to serve the side salad with one of the entrees. Customer service was great, but doubt we will be back.

I ordered their loaded potato soup and grilled cheese to go...the restaurant smelled so good when I walked in, and was very cozy and inviting. I also loved every bite of my food, was so flavorful and delicious, and was so comforting on this cold dreary day! Would definitely return!

You can't spell "acorn" without "corn" and you can't think about The Acorn Restaurant without a great team of people. This place feels less like a restaurant and more like visiting your grandmother for Thanksgiving. The good thing is the food matches up with the atmosphere and team. I made my way there for breakfast one Saturday morning and let me tell you, that is worth every mile and every minute spent in making the drive. Biscuits like you only wish you could bake, omelet's for the one with a bottomless pit in the group, and pancakes fluffy like kissing an angel's cheek. Now you know there are plenty of sides to choose from and the coffee is always brewing. If you find yourself too full to drive anyway, you're in luck. This restaurant is part of a bed and breakfast (Red Oak Manor). I have also been onsite for one of their monthly events (Iron Chef-as a judge). If you can get a ticket for that event, go for it! It is the perfect Saturday date night.

Stopped by here for lunch while driving thru Harlem. Cool atmosphere, located in a bed and breakfast style setting. Very polite staff. Kid friendly. Tables have paper coverings and our waitress encouraged our daughter to draw on the paper covering with the crayons they provided. That made us and our daughter very happy!I ordered a Philly cheese steak with house chips and my wife got the chicken finger basket. My Philly was very good! Really enjoyed it. My wife said that the chicken fingers were just ok, but she knew ahead of time that they were not home Meade chicken fingers. We got the acorn bites as an appetizer and they were extremely good!Definitely a lot more on the menu that we are going to try!Give this place a shot!

I've eaten here a few times but it's been a while since I have. Most of that is due to the pricing. Seems a bit steep for me to take the whole family. The food is good but just above average. There are some dishes that are surprisingly phenomenal such as their steak. I never expected a country kitchen to put out decent steaks such as this place has. The atmosphere is what I believe most people rave about when they tell others "you simply must eat at the Acorn". It's very much a country style place where everyone even strangers are exusingly nice to you. It's worth a try at a minimum.

Every 2nd Saturday of the month is the Iron Chef competition. Three local chefs are given a secret ingredient in which they have to make a soup, appetizer, and a main course. Tonight, the ingredient was sausage. A salad and dessert are provided by the restaurant. You get a five course meal. There are three judges who score just like on TV. The people who are being served get to pick which chef they think was best. At the end of the night, there is a judge's choice winner and a people's choice winner. If you are interested in going, contact the restaurant to get your name on the list. And they will explain how it works. When the sign up comes out, it normally fills up in about 10 minutes. Only 80 people can attend.

A friend and I finally tried the Iron Man Chef Challenge at The Acorn Restaurant at Red Manor. We had a great time! It was nice meeting new people and enjoying some great food that I would never have tried before. It was a great experience!!

They saved me! I didn't know they made the fixings for my tea party bridal shower until my baker fell apart and I messaged Renee and they helped me with only a few days notice! Everyone was delighted with the look and taste of everything at the party! Thank you so much!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Acorn. I much rather enjoy a unique location such as this verses a chain restaurant. Love the history and atmosphere at the Acorn. I also enjoyed meeting “Opa”, the owner, and hearing his story.

The food was amazing! The service and atmosphere were just as good. Just had a late lunch there with my bff. We will be there at least once a month to catch up and have quality time. Thank you all for a great experience. They even let us stay after closing time.
