Izola's Country Cafe

The food was excellently prepared. The only thing is the plates (the small plate) they serve the one meat and two veggies on is a salad plate. In my opinion, the portions over filled the salad plate so why not just put it on a regular plate?? Also, for the one meat you get exactly that which means, if you ask for a wing that is exactly what you get 1 wing. My co-worker was very disappointed when she couldn't get at least 2 wings so she ordered differently. Other than those two things, the food was delicious and hot (not lukewarm). The service was excellent.

Love this place. Great downhome southern comfort food. Unique decor and atomsphere inside. I hate that they're now only open for lunch, but I understand business is business.

Been here before and food was amazing. But today yams was terrible stringing no flavor, fried chicken so greasy oil just drips on every bit and the famous Mac n cheese dry..

Saw this place on tik tok and had to make a special trip from FL!!! Worth the stop and the stay overnight on the way to NC. The staff was extremely nice. The corn casserole and cabbage was 10/10 my favorite side dish. I wish to find my places like this in the world after this closes

I hate to see them go! I've eaten here a few times and found out about them from their TikTok posts! I only wish they could have been open on the weekends as it's hard to get there on the weekdays with my job, but I understand the need for days off. Thanks for being a part of this community for so long. I'll make it my mission to stop by one last time before November.

I was disappointed in the food line. Not what I thought it would be. The sweet potatoe cornbread was terrible. Not the best choice with the food on the serving line.I thought this was all you can eat buffet. New Orleans atmosphere and great music though

New Orleans meets Hinesville Georgia! The food was good, the service was good, the atmosphere was… eclectic. It is very worth the visit!

We went because the hours posted on this site for Sunday said they were open until 4pm. We arrived at 2:40pm and restaurant was closed. Please update your hours.

First time here and it was amazing! The owner Glenn and I talked. He was very personable as well as the staff who were attentive. Food was in my opinion absolutely amazing. The flavor was perfect.

I wanted to give it that .5 stars but nope. Google won’t allow it. So, a great lunch spot. My wife Facebook stalked this place for over a year and we finally made the drive down. Everything looked and tasted fresh. The food was hot, delicious and ample. The only reason why I couldn’t make it to that 5 star is because there’s only 2 choices. Cornbread or sweet potato cornbread. Can I get a buttered roll. And the only fresh dessert choice was peach cobbler. If you don’t like peaches….. no dessert for you. I still recommend all day every day and I’m gonna take my fat boy so I can leave feeling like they owe me. Great job Izola’s.

I have been wanting to try this place forever, we finally took a 7 hour trip to Savannah and on our way out we decided to stop. Genuinely the best food we have ever had! The mac and cheese is unreal. I would drive 7 hours just to eat here!

I was expecting real soul food, and it was far from it. My husband and I went there for the first time and we were really disappointed. The food lacks flavor. It did not have that soul and passion put into it. They need to go back to their roots and put some passion when making their food.

I live in Tennessee, and after following them on social media for a while and wanting to stop in, I finally got a chance on my way back home last Friday afternoon (7/21/2023). The food was every bit as good as it looks on their social media pages. I got the large plate with fried chicken, mac and cheese, yellow rice, and cornbread. The mac and cheese is excellent, and absolutely deserving of the attention it gets. But the cornbread! That was the best cornbread that I have ever had in my life. All of the food was so good, and I walked out of there feeling like I had eaten far too much, without breaking my wallet. The staff are also so nice, and take excellent care of the people that come in.I cannot recommend Izola’s enough, and I will absolutely stop in again when my travels take me anywhere in that direction.

Absolutely amazing food, staff, and owners!!! We traveled from FL just to try them out. We arrived near closing, but the owner graciously let us in and allowed us to dine in. We tried almost everything on the buffet and LOVED it all. The bread pudding was outstanding! I can't wait to return.

Immaculate. Great food. Great people.The fried fish and fried chicken were unbelievable. I suggest trying everything if your stomach can handle it.Glen [husband of original owner's granddaughter]was so so sweet ❤️
