The best place to eat in Jefferson Georgia.
Host and waitress were super helpful and friendly. Welcomed me and showed me the layout since it was my first time there.

Delicious breakfast buffet!! Everything I had was delicious with exception of the waffle, it was gritty and not the way a waffle should taste. Everything else though was well worth it!
Genuinely the worst food I’ve ever had. Everything was either bland and soggy or cold. The amc and cheese had a pool of grease in it, all the meats were soaking in “broth”, fried chicken was so salty. Mashed potatoes and gravy both tasted like they came out of packages. I would never pay $20 a person to eat microwaved frozen food.

I am absolutely blown away with this place.
There are so many awesome things to say about The Carriage House that I don't know where to start... I'm going to just dive in!
First, the location.
The setting is gorgeous and absolutely screams WELCOME to our place. From the moment I stepped foot inside I was immediately covered in the warmest most welcome feeling. It didn't feel like a restaurant. It felt like exactly what it is, someone's former home that a new owner loves just as much.
Speaking of the owner, what a privilege it was to meet him. He and his wife have done an outstanding job. You feel the love they have poured into this place. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the home and tells it in an attention keeping way.
The staff! The amazing staff. What wonderfully happy people! And I mean happy, so happy they make you happy. Every single person I passed had the best attitude and smiled not because it was their job, but because they were happy to be there. Another compliment to the owners for properly training your staff.
The food!! If you can ... Imagine sitting down to the memories of what your grandmother's Sunday meals tasted like. That's the best description I can give. I hope they get recognized for their fried chicken. It was delicious!!! Seasoned, breaded and fried to perfection. A must try! Tons of delicious desserts and ice creams.
The house! You just have to experience it. If you are a history buff, this is your place! They have restored and revived the house. The decorations are beautiful and fun to just walk around and look at.
This place is an experience I'd highly recommend! And it's budget friendly!
They will be open for Thanksgiving and we're already planning our spot at the table!!

First time here. Wonderful people that greet you at the door. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. The best part is they supply gloves for the buffet. Sanitizer on each table. The atmosphere is an old antebellum home makes it even more cozier. Thumbs up!

no complaints, I'm vegie not a lot of foods, but for meat lovers and sweet stuff, like my husband, he enjoyed it so much. Place clean, service good, price affordable, I enjoyed it pretty much, and will come back again.
Vegetarian options: lacto vegie is ok, not for real vegetarians
Parking: don't have to worry about that

It took us about an hour to get there. Very cool multi room house that had been transformed into an ayce buffet. I had been craving turkey and dressing, and it was on their Sunday buffet. EXCEPT they were out of dressing, and it never came out before we left! My other favorite catfish filets were way over battered so much, so I couldn't taste the fish! My friend had better luck with his fried chicken, bbq ribs, and roast. The vegetables were very good, especially the squash casserole. We tried green beans, collards, Mac n cheese, fried okra, particularly tasty, pinto beans, mashed potatoes, and creamed corn. We both also had a cup of ice cream with cobbler plus Carmel cake. Both were pretty good. Our waitress made sure our sweet teas were kept full, and dirty dishes cleared immediately. Senior pricing was $15.99 plus $3 for the tea. Will we make the trip again? Not very likely.....

I'm afraid I must update my review of the food here at The Carriage House since my first review. I've been back 2 times since the first review and the taste of the food had taken a turn for the worse. We were informed that they did have a new cook, but I'm not so sure that's the problem. Every item I ate there, except for the deserts, had the same type strange taste to it. I really don't what may have caused this, but I'm suspecting that it may be something like a different cooking oil that they now be using, or something that is common in everything they cook, except for the deserts. The one thing I can say for certain is this...my brother and his wife still enjoy eating here, but my mother and I just cannot eat there as long as the food has this strange taste.
I went to The Carriage House to eat with my mother, brother and his wife and we all 4 literally felt uncomfortably full once we finished eating all we could and the food was DELICIOUS! What really surprised me was that it cost almost the same to go eat at a Burger King or McDonald's, only the food was MUCH BETTER than those places,! The staff was very professional and extremely courteous and I recommend that anyone that finds themselves near Jefferson GA should try this place out!
