We had some amazing Taiwanese and Chinese dishes at Hunan Garden. Highly recommend the Crispy Shrimp Dry Pot, Spicy Twice Cooked Pork, and Lamb Stir-fry. All had incredible flavours and made for a delicious meal with plenty of leftovers!

This was a surprising find just 15 min from our home. It’s not easy to spot, inside a strip mall that can only be accessed from the southbound lanes of medlock bridge road.
When we walked in, we realized this was going to be an authentic experience because a lot of the signage was written in Mandarin, and the restaurant was packed with what appeared to be Chinese and Taiwanese guests.
Despite it being a Friday and not having a reservation, the hostess found a seat for us within 15 min. And once we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by delicious aromas wafting from the kitchen and from the surrounding tables.
This was our first time trying Hunan food, but we are now converts. The taste is midway between Sichuan and Cantonese. With a lot of more complex flavors. We ordered the crispy fish dry pot and the tofu stuffed with chicken malatang which is a Sichuan flavored soupy hot pot.
Our food was excellent and despite being extremely busy and stretched, the staff took time to chat with us and make us feel comfortable. We went back the next day for more and now this is one of our new favorites.

The food was okay. I had huge expectations before I came here when I saw people posting this place in the social media claiming this is the best Hunan food restaurant in Atlanta. Well, I’ve tried Hunan-styled restaurants in Hunan, and other major cities in the states. The dishes in this place just aren’t that authentic in my opinion.
I do like the second (tofu with crab meat and roe) and sixth (pork with chili pepper) dishes in the pics.
The service was good but we waited long before the dishes came out.
The place is maintained clean and neat.

Everything was absolutely perfect! I’m in love with the eggplant—it's just bursting with flavor. And the meat dishes? They’re incredible, each one better than the last.

I recently visited what I thought was still Xiao's Noodle House, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover a new gem. The restaurant's dry hot pot with lamb and fish was an absolute delight. The flavors were perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of spice to elevate the dish without overwhelming it (I tend to eat very spicy). The lamb was tender and well-seasoned, while the fish had a crispy batter, a soft tender meat, and a burst of flavor in every bite. This place is definitely worth a visit for anyone who appreciates well-crafted, flavorful cuisine.

My favorite mala place. Very generous portion sizes! Wish there were more veggies but I can’t complain since they give you so much meat haha!

Bad sanitation. Water flood all over restroom floor. Will report to food safety department. Should be shot down.

Terrible food. Walnut Shrimp is Heavy sauce with Mayonnaise ( ingredients are not mentioned on menu) which my husband is allergy to. Can not eat the food and force to pay the bill after we communicate his allergy issues.

Very greasy and salty. Nothing compare to Lameizi a similar restaurant.
Seating area cramped and bathroom are extremely filthy. Imagine what to expect from the cook. I will not return ever.
Really tasty Taiwanese cuisine. Staff is very friendly and service is efficient. Some of my favorites are the braised beef burrito, three-cup chicken, and boiled fish fillet. Will definitely be back to try other dishes!
