Very good Korean BBQ. Authentic taste. They need more servers, but the food was fantastic!

I am very disgusted by my visit today. I was half way through my meal when I noticed a baby roach crawling on the table.. I killed it and was going to get up then to just pay and leave when I noticed a FULLY GROWN cockroach ON. MY. LEG! I walked to the front, informed the gentleman at the counter, paid and left. I was a little miffed that he still wanted me to pay even after I told him about the roach but I didn’t feel like arguing about it. I’m not sure what has happened over the years, this used to be my favorite place to get wonderful Korean food. Not any more.

Wasn't very impressed with this place. I loved the atmosphere and the way it looks on the inside, the service wasn't great and the food was disappointing compared to other korean places ive tried. Not a fan of getting a canned drink at a restaurant. A lot of the food lacked flavor and spice. I asked for the hottest sauce they had and was given a very mild red paste that i would rank about a 2/10 on the heat scale. Least amount of side cups ive ever had with korean food, nothing pickled like i usually enjoy. The dumplings were probably the best ones ive ever had.... i will give them that. I can tell this place is authentic and has potential, but the service wasnt great on my first trip and food was underwhelming. When i get a taste for dumplings, i'll give them another shot.

Formerly Todamgol, Currently Sogongdong. This used to be my favorite local restaurant. Now that it has changed ownership, I am disappointed. The food seemed to be a fusion of Hispanic and Korean food. Not what I signed up for. The kitchen was blasting music too loud for a dining experience, and my feet were sticking to the floor. So sad to lose the little gold mine it used to be.

Only so so. Got three different dishes but all tasted the same, and not very good. Kimchee pancake was good.

Honestly I feel unwelcome and like I don't belong everytime I come into this restaurant. Maybe because I'm not korean, I'm black, and the staff barely knows english. But the food is so good I've come back for more. Honestly if I knew of a more friendly authentic Korean restaurant in town I would go to that one instead. But the food brings me back everytime. Please work on your customers service and become more accepting of other races that's within the very diverse community of Lagrange!
Felt unwelcome, tried several dishes- very disappointed

This place falls really short of all the Sogongdong restaurants I've been to. Not a very welcoming place at all and staff is rude. I came in with my daughter and fiancé and they treated me like I did not know anything about Korean culture or foods they eat..when in fact I am part Korean and take after my Korean side more. We were treated poorly unlike the full Koreans that were there.
My rice arrived after my side dishes, and I was ready to open to eat a little with my kimchee since I was super hungry and the lady told me I was NOT allowed to eat my rice and had to wait. Just who the hell do you think you are talking to?.. I already know what she is getting at..let the rice burn and pour Korean water on the bottom for rice water...but I'm a customer, and if I don't want to do that, then I don't have to. It rubbed me the wrong way.
The lady with short hair didn't even know what was in the haemuel bibimbap and couldn't answer a single question on the menu.
While I was eating there was a foul taste, but kept eating. At the end I puked so much and was so sick out both ends, the 3 hour ride home was miserable.
Only nice lady was the long curly hair lady. She made some Korean tea that's mixed with Korean water. Reminded me when my mom use to make all the time.

Authentic Korean food. We tried silken tofu stew, ribs, bulgogi, and others. Overall, it had great taste.

Things to keep in mind when ordering submissions
I ordered two pig's trotters today, and when I got there around 4:30, I don't know if it was the employee or the owner, but he said, "How much is two pig's trotters?", and after paying, he pointed to a bag in front of the counter and said that was that, so I brought it out, drove, and was almost getting to LaGrange Home Depot when my wife called. I just got a call from the store and they said they only gave me one and asked me to get another one...
I was so annoyed...
I had no choice but to turn around and go back, but when I got there and went in, there was only a bag in front of the counter and no one in sight, so no matter how many times I called, there was no answer. After about 30 seconds, someone came out and said sorry, but all the arrogant thoughts were running through my head and I was completely upset. I was thinking about hitting it, but I just endured it and came out...
The conclusion is that Sogong-dong made normal sales and did not suffer any losses, and I lost the round-trip drive and time...

I came in here after being ignored at another Korean restaurant that was closer to my hotel. Although it was rainy and on the other side of town during rush hour, I really wanted Korean food.
After seeing how busy they were I knew it was nothing but God that led me here.
I placed a togo order with the guy at the front counter and went to the grocery store while it was being prepared. When I got back my food was ready and I could already tell it was a lot, more than I could possibly eat in one sitting—so imagine my surprise when a lady chased me out the store with ANOTHER BAG full of banchan, salad, and various other sides ?
Not only was the food copious, it was fresh and delicious! So I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.
