This lakeside pizza spot has quickly become one of our favorite places to eat. The pizza is always packed with flavor, the crust is perfect every time, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for how good everything is.
The desserts are unforgettable — the tiramisu is rich and creamy, and the donuts are absolutely amazing. We order them almost every visit because they’re that good.
The service is another reason we keep coming back. The waitresses are genuinely kind and attentive. One time we were sitting outside and mentioned being a little cold — they actually brought us a blanket without us even asking. That level of care is rare and so appreciated.
My husband and I both love this place, and we return often. Great food, great people, and a truly welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Generally disappointing. Pasta was overcooked mush for both entrees. Sauce and entree are very bland. Been here a number of times, with different entrees and have been uniformly disappointed. Glad some folks are satisfied with the cooking skill.

This is one of the best restaurants if you are in the area. It’s close to Tallulah Gorge state park and has the best food. We ordered Garlic flatbread, Pizza ( mixed olives, onion, green pepper) and ended up eating italian donuts on the recommendation from server Tracy who was super friendly with great hospitality. We enjoyed everything and would definitely come here again. I wish it also had lake view but food is worth going again.

We are renting an Airbnb in the area and stopped on a whim while driving by. The food blew us away, absolutely fantastic. And more than that, Gavin made us some of the best margaritas we have ever had. We are downstairs at the Swimg Bar.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner tonight with great friends. While returning home my wife realized she lost a ring that she was wearing. The ring is a family heirloom over 75 years old. We called Max's to see if they could locate it at the restaurant. Within 5 minutes they called to say they found it. I can't put in words what their actions have meant. Wonderful staff, wonderful, wonderful food. We are so happy Max's made it back from their terrible fire! Thanks to all.

Absolutely delicious. We stopped here randomly after making a wrong turn trying to find our way back to our campground. We got wings and meatballs for an appetizer. Then a Caesar salad and margarita pizza. Everything was exceptional! My kids loved the meatballs and pizza. The cocktails were also superb. The vibe was classy and peaceful. I would definitely come back if in the area. 10/10! Two thumbs up.
Love Max’s! Our server, April, is so sweet and Ashley is a fantastic bartender. I usually don’t like Hendrick’s but the cucumber drink was tasty and perfectly refreshing. My friend and I thought we’d start with the margarita pizza but it was so big and filling that it was the perfect meal to split. Guess I’ll have to go back for the shrimp scampi! The patio was beautiful and comfortable. I can’t compare to before the rebuild but it doesn’t even matter. The “new” Max’s is a 10/10.

I was staying across the street at the Lake Rabun Hotel and their restaurant is closed on Mondays, so I thought I would try Max’s, I wasn’t in the mood to drive to Clayton, and I’m glad I did make the short walk. I was prepared for pizza or a hoagie, but the menu has so much else. I ordered the trout and it was one of the best pieces of fish I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to Greece, Italy and Spain. It beat the trout at Buckhead Life that I had last night. Chef Cody Riley, Manager David Mason and my server Abbye Carver were exceptional and I will make this a “must dine” when I’m in the area
