Had a business lunch at rolling chefs a few weeks ago and it was great!! Service was fast and food was even better! I had the Cuban (it was huge) and even got it Togo the following weekend! Definitely recommend checking them out and their new renovations

my husband and I brought our toddler to dinner there today. The atmosphere was great and the tacos were delicious with good portions. the owner was walking around checking on guests and made sure we had everything we needed. we will be back for sure!!

my wife Peggy Logsdon surprised me with a dinner outing and the food was decent all though the staff were working out the kinks with a opening during the holiday season

Orderd the chili cheese burger. Came out with no cheese and a what appeared to be a spoon of Hormel canned chili and a dry patty. And at $15.00 dollars. It was really a disappointment. Save yourself some money. What a Burger is just up the street at 85. Very disappointed. We will not be back.

Service was fast, we were the only people there. Food was mediocre; ordered a cheeseburger and it came out with no cheese. Steak sandwich really didn't have much for flavor.

Ordered Cuban toasted sandwiches they were missing pickles sn cheese on both sandwiches lol and drinks are 3 dollars for a cup of ice with maybe a 1/4 can of Mr pibble in glass if that drink is separate from meal idk why all establishments are doing this as well it was 2pc of meat on a 6inch sub roll for 19.00 a person absolutely bizzare pricing because you can go to many places get a side chips desert drink an sandwich drink for 9.00-13.00$ idk what’s up with the pricing per quality here it doesn’t add up as well as the quantity doesn’t add up to pricing either what so ever I got 4 potatoe wedges lol an my partner as well.! Really disappointed tbh because it’s local for us being in Bowersville but has a comfy warm welcoming vibe inside to it a staff as well service was punctual.

My wife and I stopped for lunch. My california chicken sandwich with pub fries was outstanding. My wife commented her shrimp tacos might be the best she has ever had. Portions were very generous. What more can I say

We ate at Rolling Chef last night and loved it. There were six of us. The wait staff was wonderful. They made recommendations and our glasses were never empty. We all were very pleased and will return and would recommend. ?

We had dinner at rolling chefs tonight. They were under staffed due to sickness but the young men working there worked very hard to get everyone served. The food came out quickly and was all very good. We had shrimp tostadas, Cuban, and the hula burger. Will be back and can’t wait to get one in Hartwell!

So, my first introduction to this place was when I had just eaten next door (there was a different restaurant that closed in this spot) and I noticed people were in here, although no real signage to show they were open, so they must have been new.

Being always interested in new food establishments, my friend and I, although full, wanted to see what's what do went in even though we weren't going to eat. (I'm including this backstory because of what followed next).

I approached the front counter and was speaking to a friendly woman and asking questions and wanted to see a menu. Menu looked good, nice variety, so I said I would be back.

The owner, who had been sitting in a booth but not approaching, jumped up and loudly started praising the food. Good on him, since you'd wonder if he didn't. Anyway, I said I tested new restaurants and their cooks ability by the hamburger, since a good hamburger, although hard to find, doesn't require a lot of skill, but does require attention, especially if you ask to have it cooked medium rare. The owner, obnoxiously in my opinion, said his burger was so big I couldn't eat it. I smiled (there's not been a restaurant burger I have lost to) and said I'd be the judge of that, laughing and teasing. So, it seems he got offended, although not sure. (I think he has another successful restaurant in Hartwell and rides of that reputation). Frankly, I hoped he was right, since we need good eating establishments, and said I'd come back.

Today, I did.

The place is very nice inside, good atmosphere. Sports banners and a few TVs can occupy ones time, and they serve beer if you like (it was 11:00 am so I just had unsweet tea). They had music playing, which is normally nice except this was too loud and the staff seemed to be at odds as to what to play since no song could finish and we hit three different genres from country to screemo to 80's rock. Kinda off-putting. Overall, good atmosphere! Music too loud.

The waitress was friendly and attentive (but oddly in and out of the restaurant to talk to someone in a car, not a bad thing, I guess. Distracting mostly (since it was 5 times).

I was the only patron since I wanted to get there as they opened. The kitchen staff seemed to be busy at work, prepping for the day and focused (it appeared).

I ordered the Mushroom and Swiss burger with the normal side of "pub fries." I specifically said, two times (because this is the test and I want them to get it right), that I'd like my burger cooked medium rare. Two times.

As you can see in the pictures the presentation is very good when the meal arrives and everything looks fresh (it should be, I'm the first customer, right?). And so I bit into the soft bread, crunchy lettuce, juicy tomato, all good, andn then... grey, dry, meat!

It's okay, there's really not many trained cooks in this area that know how to cook to temp so I wasn't entirely surprised (see my other reviews). Disappointed, I asked for some mayonnaise to get the powder taste a little more moist, and trudged through (I was hoping they had smashed the edges, which would be thinner and cook faster, and that the center would be, at least, medium). Nope! Very disappointing and a waste of money.

So, I'll try again at some point, and hopefully this review will cause some training and attention to detail. Some have asked why I don't send it back, but I feel that's a one-off do over because I've said something, and it's not my job to train the cooks.

So, to the owner, be proud of your success with your other restaurant (I haven't been there), but don't let your pride stop you from making this restaurant a success as well. Train, train, train... Any restaurant can put food on a plate and take the customers money.
