Athens Grill

We ate lunch on a Saturday afternoon. My wife ordered the beef kabobs over rice. I ordered the beef shawarma with hummus and tabbouleh salad.
After ordering I noticed there was no beef on the spit, there was gyro on one and the other one and empty.
My shawarma came first; we looked at each other and my wife said “my expectations of this place just dropped !” and I agreed.
My shawarma looked like microwaved leftovers from the night before, it was wet and soggy and salty as can be. My wife beef kebabs came out a couple minutes after. The old man dropped the plate off and we never saw him again. He never came back to check on us or especially ask how the food was. The beef kebabs were perfectly cooked and tasted fresh off the grill. The rice was terrible- I would have complained if we had seen him again!

I just pictured in my head that my shawarma was the old end piece from the empty spit and was refrigerated overnight and then reheated in the microwave when I ordered it. They didn’t even crisp it up on the grill. It was the worst.

I would not order anything that I didn’t see cooking on the spit again. The place was dirty and all the tables and chairs wobbled.

I doubt I would be craving this place again and offer for you to think twice before eating there because of all the good food in the area.

Greek food has always been my favorite. I could never say "no" to greek food! Moving from Florida to Georgia I hadn't found a place I loved...until tonight. We got the chicken gyro and the kafta kobab with potatoes (idk what they put on the potatoes but the seasoning was fantastic!) + a variety of baklava *the pistachio baklava was our favorite* All of it was great, the service was wonderful and the man at the counter was friendly and attentive. Athens Grill will definitely be my new go to for all things greek 💙🤍💙

I can never say anything good enough about the food, service, price, and atmosphere. Everything I have to say would all be gross underatatements.

Whether we dine in or take out, dining here is always a loved treat for us.

They are kind, honest, and generous. They treat you like missed family after being gone for way too long.

The food is at least as good as grandma would have made it and portioned about as generously as when she tells you to "eat, because if you leave hungry, it's your own fault."

I don't think his pricing has changed much, if any, over the past years, his portions are still as generous as ever, and the quality has not suffered.

I've been eating food prepared by this man for over 15 years, started at his previous location in Loganville, now run by his brother and renamed Athenas Gyros.

This is our favorite small, locally owned Greek restaurant. The food is always very good and the service friendly and fast. I tried the Greek pizza most recently. Thin, crisp crust and plenty of toppings.
