Worst staff and food too!
Habachi San in sugarloaf mills mall has stood the test of time. It’s one of the fast food restaurant in the food court since the mall had open back in November 2001. Over 24 years. Still love habachi San even thought they don’t serve beef like they used to. Price might have gone up but it’s the closest thing to a homecooked meal I could buy on the fly. Besides I worked in the restaurant industry before & unless you’re eating out at a fine dining every restaurant wether sit in or take out all food comes in bulk frozen in a large freezer in the back of the house, cooked on a flat grill.
My girls go to the mall just for this food, but unfortunately, the service has really gone downhill. Today was the worst experience yet. While ordering, the employee Kate was inattentive and had an attitude. I had to ask her to focus on my order, but she responded with even more attitude. When I asked for a manager, she claimed there wasn’t one available—which I know isn’t true. I still went ahead with my order, but even then, it wasn’t prepared correctly. Disappointed to see this place decline, especially since it’s a favorite for my family.
Food is great and so is price. The line was long and busy. The problem was the staff. Jonathan didnt like me asking about food it was my first time eating here. Marian who was at the cash register started giving me the total in a hurry. I still had drinks to grab. She kwpt ringing and not asking if I needed anything else. Ofcourse the people behind me were also in a hurry. I didnt rush Jonathan when he went to get rice. I didnt rush Diego when he was cutting the chicken. Its sad when people are rude or just not wanting to be nice. Maybe it was because it was late and probably all tired. But I wont be coming back.
Loved this place since forever ago when I worked at the mall.

Food was terrible and customer service was even worse. The lo mein has no flavor. Portions were super small. Chicken tasted like knock off Panda Express. They need to remove hibachi from the name, there’s nothing hibachi about this place. And they have a no refill drink policy which they should disclose because I could’ve bought a drink from the 9 other places in the food court that would refill my drink. Employees are also extremely rude and have attitude. I had a poor experience here. Would give zero stars if I could.

The chicken and vegetables are great. The fried rice is decent but their lo mein has fallen off. It used to be really good but doesn't have the same flavor anymore.

Food had little taste. Forgivable, its the mall. Worker made the plate with no gloves on. Less forgivable, but again, it's the mall. Later, my son wanted a drink refill and they told him they have a no refill policy posted. I asked where that was posted and the worker pointed to the napkin box. There was nothing written on the box... so I asked again, where is the policy? They just walked away and ignored me. It's their choice but they chose to save 17 cents so that I will never buy food there again. Check.

Purchased lo-mien noodles with hibachi chicken. Taste was decent; a lot of sodium or msg.

I had Panda Express last time, so I ordered from Hibachisan this time. I wonder if the owner is the same, but he gave me a drink in a panda cup.I ordered a plate of half rice and half noodles/honey spicy chicken/sesami chicken.First of all, all the side dishes I ordered were delicious, but the rice wasn't cooked well? I should have ordered just the noodles...And the Sesami chicken tasted better than Panda's orange chicken. It felt cleaner than the Panda next door, so I was quite satisfied with it.
