I was really disappointed with my visit to Kampai Sushi and Hibachi. For the price they charge, the portions especially the protein are unacceptably small. When you order hibachi, you expect a generous serving of chicken, steak, or shrimp as the main feature of the meal. Instead, what I got was mostly rice and vegetables with a shockingly small amount of meat!

Visited here today around 5PM for a quick bite. Pleasantly surprised, Kate our server (we dined in and did not do the hibachi because of time constraints) was pleasant and the service was impeccable.
I order the lobster, filet and scallops over hibachi, my son got the kids meal steak over kampai rice and my lady got the steak and shrimp over hibachi. All were perfectly cooked to medium well, seasoned and proportionate.
The ginger salad and soup were great as well but the spicy tuna was to die for. Great texture, flavor and really fresh.
I ordered a whiskey sour and Sapporo and the missus ordered a lemon drop martini. The whiskey sour was probably the best I've had in a long time. The portions were well thought out, the whiskey complimented the sour and nothing overpowered the other.
I'm a sucker for great service and an even bigger one for better food. Ask for Kate and you won't be disappointed.

Hibachi was DISGUSTING. The food was greasy, and the eggs in the fried rice were poorly cooked. The chef rushed his cooking like he had somewhere to be. They automatically add an 18% tip, which feels unfair for the service provided. If you're going to charge this much, at least have better cooks. 0/10

Was celebrating our adult child's birthday. She wanted hibachi and sushi. There were 6 of us sitting around the hibachi grill, and another family joined us. The hibachi cook was not impressive. My husband and I ordered noodles and shrimp. It was served on a plate with so much sauce that it spilled over. My husband needed napkins. They brought cocktail napkins. Also, we asked for a spoon. They brought a plastic spoon, which was not useful. The servers were not helpful đ

Food and service have declined lately. Chefs don't do tricks anymore like they used to and it's not as much fun as a result.

Food was good, but there is an automatic 12% tip applied to to-go orders. The owner says there is a sign on the door, but if you order to go, you wonât know until you go to pick up your food. The additional charge should be mentioned before customers place an order.
This place is the worst hibachi place that I have been. The chef dont serve the food equally. They add the tip upfront on your bill for the worst service that you receive and still leave a place for you to add another tip. NEVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT IN SNELLVILLE.

Love the rolls at Kampai and the drinks are pretty good. đ

The chef looks like he didnât cared about us. He cooked our vegetables and it was still raw. He only let the veggies cook a few seconds and released them to us. I see why I never came back because the last time I was there it was in 2018 and their sushi was bland and disgusting & now itâs the hibachi chef who doesnât care about the food hazards and his customers. Wonât be coming back here anytime soon!

Our experience here was not that good. Despite being charged 18% on our bill, it was never mentioned that they did that or we would have considered eating somewhere else. We always tip, but 18% is wild to me. If you guys arenât making enough money to pay your employees, then maybe you shouldnât be in business. I donât think this restaurant will be opened much longer. We were first time customer but will no longer be returning because of this. Also, the food itself was not very good because it was overcooked and very greasy. I ended up ordering sushi, but it was not very good either. I know they pay their employees off the tips at the end, but itâs not customers obligation to pay their wages. I do believe whatever they are doing is illegalâŠ

The food and service was fine. The reason they got a one from me is the mandatory 18% âtipâ. They have a very hard to see sign which reads 18% gratuity added to all dine in. I told them that is not a gratuity itâs a service charge. The real annoying issue is the 18% gratuity is very faded on the receipt and they have a place for a tip. You might not realize that you are adding on to an already applied 18% tip! Very deceptive business practice. I will not returnâŠ
