Really nice atmosphere. The staff was super pleasant and accommodating. The chef was funny and the food was amazing! And the drinks were sooooo good. We had the hibachi steak, chicken, shrimp, mai tai and a lemon drop.
The portion sizes are for a dinosaur. I’m not kidding, if you like to get bang for your buck, this is your spot. Very tasty and always cooked fresh. Now being honest, I’ve been coming here since they opened many years ago and the vibe could use a refresh but that also would come with higher prices and the prices here are excellent for what you get. If you set that tone and go, I’m sure you will enjoy Kampai
Food quality has definitely decreased over the last few months. Their "special" rolls no longer have that pop and explosion of flavors that fresh sushi rolls have. I'm also a fan of Udon noodles and usually order the "spicy" udon. The last 2 orders had no kick whatsoever. Personally it's time that I move on to a new favorite sushi restaurant.
