Two women were working at the counter; one of the younger women was very pleasant, while the older woman serving food was not as approachable. On my first visit, I asked about the restaurant's menu because I noticed several empty trays at the serving station. Unfortunately, the server turned her attention away from me completely, failing to respond immediately to my direct question. I found this to be a decidedly rude behavior, especially considering the urgency in which I needed the answers as there were other people waiting on line. It definitely made me want to walk away. It felt like I had to pull teeth out of her to get her to even tell me what each item was. Food was decent but the service definitely need work especially with that particular employee.

Black owned. I'm definitely supporting. The breakfast is good.
The food was not good at all. This was my 2nd visit here. The fried chicken was hard as a rock and so was the cornbread. The Mac and cheese was awful, bland. The collard greens were not good either. They need Gordon Ramsay ASAP. SMH, LORD HELP TODAY with this place.

Lunch plate with one meet, 2 sides 15-29usd. Pricey
Clean as always. Haven't stopped by in years. Now that egg sandwiches are back, I will be stopping more often when on the East-Side. The girls are sweet. A-1 customer service. The food... I had Salisbury Steak, mustard greens, mac & cheese, + rice & gravey. Robert's has never let me down, 22 years and runnin'!

Long as I waited the food should have been freshly cooked I had porkchop breakfast. It was a old cooked pork chop soon as I bit it the whole skin came off the meat was thin and overcooked yesterday. Like I said I waited a minute not to have freshly cooked pork chop..I was disappointed although it has the potential to be great.. the grit and egg was the only thing I ate a li bit of.. i really wanted the pork chop because I haven't had it in a while my husband doesn't eat pork so I was a bit excited to get some pork chops

Went there on Saturday May 31, 2025 and my experience was AWFUL! I will never go back. The Mac and Cheese was so nasty . It had no taste at all the Collard Greens was so salty I couldn’t eat it. The Bake chicken taste like it was left over chicken. I had to pay an extra $1..00 for rice. They give you one spoonful and a half. I left $30.00 in there for no reason. And the cornbread…….just throw the whole cornbread recipe away. By the time they were doing fixing my plate everything was wet up. Just a mess. I will NEVER RETURN!

Good crispy exterior and soft interior on my sausage biscuit. Delectable breakfast and a good convo. Peace!
The food here is decent but not exceptional, and the pricing is considerably high for what is offered. We purchased two dinner plates for a total of $32.95: one pork chop plate with two sides and one neckbones plate with two sides. In my opinion, this price is excessive for the portions and quality provided. Additionally, it seems the prices are increased slightly with each visit, perhaps to gauge customers’ payment tolerance. We will not be returning to Robert’s. My message to them is to not take advantage of your customers by overcharging them.
For comparison, we recently visited another establishment where we ordered two similar dinners that not only tasted better but cost just $18.95 for both. While that restaurant is on the more affordable end, I wouldn’t expect to pay more than $24 for two comparable meals. Unfortunately, I don’t recall the name of that establishment at the moment, but I will update this post once I find it.

Service was great, prompt. The chicken is so seasoned, it’s excellent. The collards were good and black eyed peas pretty good, needed a little salt/pepper.. I’d give it a 5 star but the MAC n CHEESE just ain’t it.. it’s the kind with the cheese laying on top.. not throughout the noodles… although the noodles were seasoned… it just was more like noodles with hard cheese layer on top. I wish they would make it differently.. it’s a good just not what you think of when you think of Mac n cheese
