Food and service was good. Its not fast food type service. We had to wait 15 minutes or so. I guess it's good food as fast as they can. Sorry to hear this location is closing. Looks like DOT purchased the property for road expansion.

Ok, after reading all these reviews it looks like so many people are disappointed. I heard abt this place from the Derrick Boazman show and also have seen them interview on Porsha show. Im not from here, I've only been here a yr from Detroit. It's disappointing cause I pass this place off 20and i was just abt to order uber eats from here. Now Southern Fires souk food restaurant, ooohhhweee now that's good eating. I hope this place pays attention to the comments to care and improve.

WHOEVER COOKED ON 10/21/2024!!! NEED TO TAKE VACATION! RIB TIPS WAS LIKE NOT GOOD. SERVER YOUNG FEMALE. GIVING OUT THEM ONE SCOOP SIDES. CORNBREAD I DO LIKE SWEET. BUT TODAY IT WAS LIGHTSKIN, NOT FULLY BAKED AND SWEET LIKE PURE SUGAR. THEY GAVE OUT NOT FRESH BAKED CHICKEN AND IT WAS DRY. I GOT MAYBE 10 TIPS!! FRIEND PUT THERE PLATE IN THE TRASH. I COULD NOT EAT MY AS WELL. ACTUALLY SPENT ALMOST $70 DOLLARS FOR THREE PLATES? PLATE CONTAINERS GET SMALLER AND SMALLER! ONE DAY BLACK CONTAINERS WITH CLEAR PLASTIC LID. NEXT TIME WHITE STYROFOAM CONTAINERS. PEOPLE SAY WHEN YOU KNOW BETTER, YOU DO BETTER! PUT THE ELDERLY BACK IN THE FRONT AND THE BACK RO COOK. THEY POLITE, WELCOMING AND GIVE YOU WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! YES ALL CAPS, BECAUSE I'M PISSED!! I DON'T MIND SPENDING MONEY ON GOOD FOOD. TODAY I DIDN'T QUALITY OR QUANTITY! OWNERS YOU STILL STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED ?

Usually the food is on point, but today I was disappointed. I had roasted chicken plate and two rib too plates. Everybody agreed that today was a miss. The two stars are mainly for the sweet potato souffle, macaroni was lacking.

Food was blah. The fries and sweet potato souffle were good. The ribs and mac and cheese were just ok. Not a big fan of this is it but kept hearing the panola rd one is the best. But unfortunately that wasn't the case for me. And fyi these are one of the places that charge a 3.5% fee if you use a credit or debit card

Well I haven't eaten there in over a year, only due to diet changes. So today overly excited to eat my favorite dish. And I was kinda disappointed in the taste not what I remember and not something I would like to eat again. Maybe another year from now, might be better then what I ate tonight

I have a real soft spot for This Is It BBQ—they can do no wrong in my eyes. This place is a true staple in the community, especially for the older folks who rely on it for a good, home-cooked, quality meal. What I love most is that they’re not stingy with the portions, which is great for my elders who can save some for leftovers. It’s heartwarming to walk in and see so many seniors being taken care of here. For that alone, I’ll always support this restaurant. They’re providing more than just food; they’re supporting the community, and that’s something I deeply respect.

Very disappointed. I was overcharged. They refused to give me my money back. Then they gave me fake numbers for corporate. Very disappointed.

The employee service could be a little better. Bathrooms were super filthy!!

Everything was exceptional besides the temperature of my chicken strips, I can't complain about anything else!

Honestly just horrible, I got a vegetable plate, so nasty. The macaroni just tasted SOUR, couldn’t tasty any cheese or anything. It was inedible.
