Koji Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

After living here for 2 years, decided to try this place. Horrible service. Vivi who served us seems like she hates her job. She rushed us the entire time we were here. She rolled her eyes when we ordered waters and kept trying to walk away as we were ordering. Its like she couldnt remember everything we were ordering so was trying to run back to ring it in. She didnt even bring everything we ordered. She over charged us for something she said they had without telling us it would be an extra charge when we ordered it. The table next to us was the exact same. She rushed them to take their order and didnt come back to actually take it until 5 minutes later because she was too busy talking to other servers. Very upsetting considering the food is very good. She should not be in the service industry!

Terrible service for a big party server took order and never returned his tip was in the gratuity he never seen if we need drink refills or nothing horrible service

I will never order from this place again. Ordered online via the order online link and it sent me through DoorDash storefront. I ordered 2 adult hibachi chicken dinners and it was $52. I thought it was steep but online it said, it included a
Soup, salad and appetizer. I get to store to pick it up and they tried to give me two kids meals!!!! I showed them my order and they said that’s what they received and there was nothing they could do. So instead of giving me 2 adult meals. The manager and I had to find a phone number that I had to get by searching online and call to get a refund. Never again.

Ordered here this week and we got 2 hibachi dishes for $55. And everything tasted like only garlic. The fried rice was just white rice with soy sauce on it and no veggies or egg. A the miso soup had absolutely no flavor it was brown water in a bowl with 2 mushrooms. I was pretty annoyed.
I ate here last year passing through and at the table and the food was much better.
On the plus side the service inside was good the host was really friendly.
For atmosphere, they definitely try but there’s certain spots especially around the hibachi table , and in the bathrooms that definitely need repairs.

Food was not seasoned very well but was cooked pretty by the hibachi chef. Service was extremely slow too. However, the biggest disappointment was the fact that only the black people around the two tables near us were automatically charged the 18% gratuity. We asked around and none of the whites were charged and they had more people in their parties. Since we normally pay 20-22% for good service on the regular, you’ve just short-changed your staff on top of losing us and our friends as future customers. We refuse to award racism!

Not a good experience. New to Locust Grove. Took my visiting relatives to Koji, excited for a great Hibachi/Tepanyaki experience. Asked in advance for no butter, no egg. Server said no problem, tell your Chef, too. I told the Chef when he confirmed orders. The whole dinner the Chef kept putting butter on the food and had a seeming attitude every time I would say, remember no butter for me. It got so bad one of the strangers at the table said to the Chef once, hey buddy, she said she can't have butter. I told my server afterwards as it really was a very bad experience and the food over all from my opinion, tasted sub-par. It made me wonder if allegedly, because this is a smaller town and not in Atlanta, a larger city, if they are just giving sub-par service because of an assumption that locals may not know better or require the same. In front of my family it was a bad choice for dinner, a Chef with an attitude, butter all in or around my food, and just not a good food or service experience. The Server however, was nice. Interestingly, before we walked in the restaurant I asked another group leaving, how was their food and they said, it was just alright. That should have been my clue to drive further north to another Japanese restaurant. Like that group, based on my experience, I can not recommend this restaurant.This incident happened in October 2024.

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are limited. If you order just vegetables they are still cooked on same grill as meat and chicken using the same utensils.

Not a bad price a little bit more than I want to spend however it was very tasty I went with the bento and the soft shell crab.

The dinner bento is a little bit more then expected however definitely worth it and it came out very fast.

The service team on the floor was very helpful and did the very best that they could everybody there seemed to be going above and beyond.

Great food but unless you’re paying cash I wouldn’t go there. They charged me twice and I’m having to go through my bank to make sure that the second charge is dropped.

The food was amazing, the service was great. This place became my new favorite sushi place. They have a happy birthday package that they bring a dessert, sing and take a picture.

Went for dinner last week. I highly recommend!! We were seated right away. The portions are huge for hibachi! The kids plate was great..it came with noodles & rice. Sushi was delicious too! Everybody we came in contact with was super nice! Definitely will be back!
