Owens and Hull at Grand Champion

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Owens and Hull, a fantastic barbecue spot in Smyrna, Cobb County, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I sat down, I was hit with a burst of flavors that left me impressed. The mac and cheese was creamy, perfectly seasoned, and had just the right amount of cheese. The collard greens were tender and full of flavor, truly a standout side. But the real star of the show was their brisket hash over rice. I wasn’t expecting it to be such a hearty dish, but it was absolutely delicious—rich, smoky brisket paired perfectly with the rice. Every bite was full of flavor, and I couldn’t get enough of it. I also didn’t anticipate the platter to be as generous as it was, leaving me with plenty of leftovers to savor later. Always looking for some new bbq to try in the metro and Owens and Hull popped up on our radar. Glad we decided to give it a try. The brisket was melt in your mouth tender while also being juicy and packed with flavor. Perfect marble to lean ratio. The jalapeño sasuage link had a nice char on the outside to give it that extra depth of flavor. Now to the Mac and Cheese. Perfection in a cup, I don't know what else to say creaminess, texture, seasoning all on point. If I could have a giant tub of that Mac and cheese my life would be complete.

Blake was very welcoming with excellent costumer service. Very clean place. We got all the meats, and all the meats were amazing. The sides were also amazing. After the meal, there's a beautiful river outside, very nice scenery. Everything about this place was amazing, especially the food. Definitely now added to one of my top favorite places to eat. I highly recommend.

Blake was on the line and gave amazing service from beginning to end - both through BBQ discussions and overall passion for his role in what they are doing there! Hands down the best BBQ in Atlanta and so far the best BBQ experience outside of Texas!
I ordered:
- Brisket sandwich (well composed and put together with sauce and condiments in the sandwich. Juice chopped brisket)
- Pulled pork sandwich (also a well composed sandwich and not just meat+bun. All the components of the sandwich works great together and gives you a combination of sweet, savory and a little tang)
- Spareribs (perfectly cooked with all flavors on point! Fall off the bone with a light tug)
- Cheddar & Jalapeño sausage (absolutely perfect take on the classic C&J sausage! Nice smokey flavor and cheesy with a slight kick. Texture on point with a corse grind and a pork/beef mix)
- Black pepper & garlic sausage (also an amazing and flavorful sausage! The sausages alone is worth coming back for)
- Smoked chicken wings (tasty smokey wings with good seasoning and char. No chewy skin here!)
- Mac’n Cheese (creamy, cheesy and straight delicious)

Sometimes you don’t always get to select from a full menu later in the evening at a top notch BBQ restaurant, but even having limited options, Owens and Hull gets a 5 star rating. As some of the last customers that got food for the night, Robert came to the table to apologize for the limited selection but no apology was needed. He made us feel at home and we will definitely be back. They also have the best mustard sauce I have ever tasted!

We have now been to Owens & Hull twice and can easily say it's our new favorite BBQ joint in the Atlanta area! The food is phenomenal, the service is very friendly and attentive, and it's fantastic to be connected to Reformation Brewery. What is better than a beer and BBQ combo!? We will be back soon, I am sure. Don't miss out on this hidden gem.

Just became my favorite spot for their Dino Beef Rib Special. Hard to top but they did it! Amazing flavor and tenderness. Next to try is the OAW Burger.

If this was award winning Texas bbq pork (pulled, sliced, ribs, etc), then I prefer southeastern style (Tenn, N Carolina, even KC). The bark tasted burnt, and the meat was too smokey and fatty.. for my taste. Now Sam, we loved her to death! ❤️

Awesome staff. The owners are always warm and welcoming. The food is awesome. We visit here frequently and love the brisket burger, ribs, mac&cheese, collards, etc. highly recommend!
