The chicken spinach canzone should be written about in the new testament. The Margherita pizza and mozzarella cheese breadsticks were also VERY good.
We had an issue with a DoorDash order the day before. Sabrina had great customer service and made it right. I highly recommend the food and the service. 10/10. It was a delivery service issue.
Stopped by for a family reunion and it was really great here!
We only purchased the brick-oven made pizza, and it was very delicious! Sat outdoors to take in the scenery and then fed the geese along the river.
The outdoor seating is great overlooking the river and is a good space for kids There is plenty of room inside and out. The salad bar was good and the pizza was yummy. You order at the counter and then it is brought to you making it pretty convenient.
I had the calzone today and sat outside. It was my first time in McCaysville and decided to check out Twisted Tomato. The food was delicious and the patio atmosphere next to the river was relaxing. Abbi was running food and cleaning tables. She did not stop. It was great to see someone working so hard and not standing and on their phone. She was very polite and definitely is a prize for Twisted Tomato. Other waitstaff were exceptional as well.
Great service and food.
I had a Meat Lover's Calzone that I enjoyed. The problem with Twisted Tomato is they will not answer their phone to place an order for pick up during the pandemic. To add insult to injury they have online ordering through the Slice app, which is a joke because although Twisted Tomato shows the Meat Lover Calzone on their menu it is not offered on the Slice menu so you can't order it that way either. This is ridiculous customer service, especially as the CoVID-19 virus continues to be a concern. Very disappointing to put it far too politely!
***This added after Twisted Tomato commented...You can see that there is no attempt at accountability, and only excuses are offered. We also left a voicemail for Twisted Tomato on Saturday, 01/01/2022 and they didn't have the professional courtesy to call us back. Twisted Tomato doesn't even deserve 1 star. My first job was at a Pizza place and we could run the business on the busiest nights with 3 people without losing a customer and based on that experience I can tell you that this Twisted Tomato location was not short staffed, that's just another excuse and faslehood. We ended up eating at a restaurant near this the McCaysville TT franchise and as we passed Twisted Tomato that afternoon we saw that there were plenty of employees on hand to handle orders and customers responsibly. In addition, the Calzone's have never been offered on the Slice app, and the 'owner's' comment suggests otherwise, which is further evidence that the reply/excuses provided by Twisted Tomato are not based in fact.
**Follow up 06/14/2025, I went back once for the Meat Lover's Calzone that I enjoyed my first visit and it was sadly much smaller and oddly cost more. They charge $10.00 for a draft beer! Needless to say, we won't be going back here again. It's a shame because this place has so much potential but greed seems to be their priority, and/or is a result of poor managment. The service itself, from the staff that work at the McCaysville location, has been very good both times.**
Such a nice inviting environment! We got the Spaghetti and Meatballs to split which came with garlic knots and a Red Sangria to drink! The spaghetti was a special but man it was DELISH! Huge portion and so yummy! The meatballs were so flavorful and they brought it to our table outside. The Red Sangria was made with strawberry puree and it was so good and fresh. We will always visit when in the area!
What a great place to eat! The salad bar is fresh with so many options. The pizza is the best. 5 STARS

Not locally owned, part of a takeover by rich investor Michael Galinski. Shop and eat local!
