We love Papa Bucks and make a point to eat every time we are in town. Stopped by Monday around 4pm because on Trip Advisor said open 7 days a week - 11am to 9pm. Which surprised us because had always been closed on Sunday and Monday. The door said open with hours 11am to 8pm. But they were closed. We did get to come back Tuesday and enjoyed our meal as usually. Waitress informed us they are now closing at 3:00pm on Mondays.

The pulled pork & chicken were delicious. Perfectly smoked and served with a smile. If you find yourself near Metter, be sure to stop in.

We happened to be there on a Wednesday, which is burnt ends days. I had that and ribs. Other people had pork, chicken and whatnot. It was all good. Glad I didn't get a huge platter though, because there was a lot of food.

It was 4 stars worthy The food was very good. The restaurant has been updated, along with prices - The thing is, my husband ordered a water. I had the Wednesday Burnt Ends special sandwich- said I didn’t really want it ON the bread. Was offered Texas toast, bread or bun. Opted for Texas Toast . Got our check. Was charged $.25 for the water, and $.50 for the Texas Toast. Neither at all exorbitant, but we should’ve been advised. The bathroom needed updating. toilet seat worn down and wobbly. All the while the Owner’s new model BMW X650 (?) sitting to the side, taking up at least two parking places. All in all, felt the customer could’ve been better served. The waitress was sweet and I was embarrassed for her having to explain such pettiness .

We were on our way to Warner Robbins and looking for a place for lunch. My husband read reviews on Pappa Buck's which were really good. Neat place with friendly servers. Greeted immediately as we entered and shown a table. He ordered a pork loin sandwich with coleslaw and fried okra. I ordered a brisket sandwich, colesalw and Bruswick stew. They had 3 different sauce so I tried all three on my sandwich and they were all really good, I went light on the hot one due to our server Brooke B indicating that it was HOT. She did a great job with service and was so pleasant. The Brunswick stew was really good, had potatoes in it and a good amout of tomates. He said his pork loin sandwich was good and enjoyed the orka. My brisket was very good, there was a bit of fat which I pulled off. The meat had a good smoky flavor and was very tender. Good stop for lunch

If you're nearby it's worth the stop. I'm a brisket person so I'm always out for trying out if it's on the menu. The brisket was well smoked with a good flavor. The servings were generous and worth the money.

I was headed to Metter and asked about BBQ before heading out I was told of two places and decided to stop by. I was not disappointed, you see I am a bit of a BBQ snob. This place did not disappoint. The burnt ends were perfect. If passing through Metter, you need to stop here for great bbq.

Great BBQ! Topanga was a fast and courteous server. We each had a Scooby for lunch… chicken, pork and brisket were all excellent. Great option while traveling instead of the standard chain fare.

Stopped here en route to Alabama. Just off hwy 16. Service was friendly and efficient. Our food came out in 10 minutes. Very moist pork ribs. Hubby had a huge brisket sandwich. The beef was also very tasty and moist. Good bbq sauces. Potato salad seemed home made and great. Generous portions. Very reasonable cost. $11 for 3 huge ribs, big green salad and Fries. Sandwich was $8 Restaurant was clean and nicely furnished. Bathrooms spotless. Lots of locals here. Definitely will stop again When on This route

We stopped here on our way back home from celebrating our 34th anniversary in St. Simons Island. This was a great lunch stop! Our server was very friendly and attentive! And the BBQ and sauce was great!

We tried Papa Bucks BBQ, and we are so glad we did, it was truly amazing! From the service to the food!! I had the half chicken, mac and cheese and green beans, my husband had pulled pork, fries and fried okra, and we shared a Brunswick stew (which was amazing), and the sweet tea was perfect! The ONLY negative I have is the green beans are canned. everything else was fresh and hot. We will definitely eat here again.

Awesome bbq. I had the turkey bacon club sandwich and fried okra, which was a smooth smokey meaty glory! My wife had a pork sandwich and my son a chopped chicken sandwich. All were excellent. And..we got actually eat inside...at a dining table..with Air condtioning and sweet tea! Sure beats waiting an hour at the zaxbys drive thru!!
