I used to come here with my family when i was younger it was my grandma's favorite place to take us. My favorite thing was the crab legs and the buffet. I liked looking around at the decor and the staff accommodated my big family. Good memories from when i was younger. If i lived in Georgia id still come here

The popcorn shrimp are fabulous. The salad bar is always perfect. The ice tea is to die for and they leave a small pitcher on the table for your refills. Heaven!

I visited Captain Joe's this past Saturday, driving in from Atlanta based on my father and his girlfriend’s enthusiastic recommendations. Unfortunately, my experience quickly turned sour.
Upon arrival, I felt uncomfortable due to a worker who seemed to be watching us from the register the entire time. When I ordered water, the quality was so poor that I ended up going to my car for my own bottled water. My father and his girlfriend ordered sweet tea, but the waiter brought a pitcher of unsweetened tea instead.
For my meal, I ordered the $33 broiled seafood platter, substituting shrimp for oysters and clam strips, with a baked sweet potato as my side. When the food arrived, I was shocked. The platter consisted of tiny, grocery store-style shrimp that looked microwaved, a thin sliver of fish, a single shrimp in a cup with a lot of seasoning, and a deviled crab that tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. I honestly thought they’d just forgotten part of my meal, so I waited patiently. My father and his girlfriend, who had been here before, were also disappointed, noticing that the portion sizes had decreased significantly.
When I asked the waitress if the rest of my meal was coming, she told me, “That’s it.” I was stunned! I then asked about my missing baked sweet potato, which she rushed to bring in a to-go box. When I finally saw it, it looked unappetizing, like it had been left in the trash.
Upon paying, I politely expressed my disappointment to the cashier, a woman with gold teeth. She insisted the food was “just how it looks when it’s broiled.” I told her I’d take the shrimp home and finish cooking them myself. In the end, I felt as though I’d wasted $85 on meals that wasn’t worth it.
I hope they can improve their management and quality soon—because, as it stands, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Great mom and pop restaurant with excellent home cooking! I had the soup and salad buffet that came with a great dessert!
Their other menu prices were more than reasonable also.
I'll definitely be back!

I don’t believe I have ever had a bad meal here! It’s true Southern fried seafood… with a great salad bar, hush puppies, and grits… what more could a southern gal want?

I've been visiting for more than 13 years. Although, on a few occasions service was not up to par. Food has always been freshly fried. The food has a unique flavor which makes it a treat. My favorite part is their salad and soup bar..it's better than RT. My friend and I were their last customers last evening...
We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the freshly fried seafood platter. It's always worth my trip

The food was okay, had to ask for condiments and silverware. We ordered a platter and they also didn't bring any plates to the table. We overheard the staff discussing us we got to go plates and left. Never felt so uncomfortable in an establishment before, will not be back.

THE BEST salad bar around! The Capt has an amazing soup and salad bar with pasta salad, cole slaw, fruit, desert, 2 soup choices, and the best “Red Lobster” type biscuits ever. Great place to go for a quick bite if you get the salad bar.
