We went to eat for my father's 80th birthday and we were very excited. We have been going to captain joe's for a long time. The server she was very pleasant, waited on us right away. We got there about 5:40 in the evening.
My father ordered the catfish platter and we ordered the platter four two we ordered two of those.Because there was five of us. On the menu, it says that it comes with fried shrimp, oysters, devil, crab clam strips, hot, boil shrimp and crab cakes. It comes with the soup and salad bar and one side.We ordered baked potatoes and one order of fries with it. We went up to the salad bar and it is usually nice, but tonight it was a total train wreck. A lot of the stuff was empty. All I had was some lettuce, and a little bit of tuna salad. Almost everything was empty on it. My father had the shrimp with rice soup and the rice was hard in the soup. It's like it had been sitting there for hours. It was not good. So we had our little bit of lettuce and ate that and waited for a food and waited waited and waited server, she was very nice. She came back 3 times and told us it was coming out all in total. We waited an hour for our dinner. The server brought out my father's catfish plate. He got to eat, then we got the two seafood platters about another fifteen minutes later, the seafood platters had popcorn shrimp on them not fantail shrimp and the steam shrimp was ice cold. The baked potatoes, you could put your finger in it. They were cold. The food was horrible, fifty one dollars for a seafood platter and they're gonna serve you popcorn shrimp now, mind you, we ordered two of them. And we waited over an hour and almost fifteen minutes for this. We were starving. So when she brought the food, I said, no way, I can't eat this. It's all cold and I'm not eating popcorn. Shrimp, not for $51. It was the kind of shrimp you could get at walmart in the frozen section. The manager came and she said, I'm so sorry, but but the kitchen is behind now. Mind you This isn't the first time we've been there. They did this before where we had to wait. Almost an hour for our food that time, we got lucky and it was semi hot, but this time I said no way. I'm not paying for this. For popcorn shrimp, I asked her why they put popcorn shrimp, and she says, it says fantail shrimp on the menu, and she wanted to kind of argue with me about it, and I said, oh no, no I don't have time for this. Charge me for whatever, take it back. I'm not eating it. I don't want it and I told her it'd be the last time we ever go there. This the service was good. I feel sorry for them, because the cooks they're terrible. They need to replace them and the management. Because she has every excuse in the book and taken up for these cooks who are ruining this business. This place used to be awesome. And every time I have been there now, it has gotten worse and worse. And we're done, we will go to bjs. We will drive the extra 20 miles to get great service and hot food. The prices that this the restaurant is charging is overpriced. Especially for the quality of the food. You do not serve popcorn shrimp on a fifty one dollar platter, it should be fantail shrimp. If that was the case, I could have bought that crap at walmart i cooked it myself. So thank you forever's reading miss. Uh, be aware that this place has gone way down. And I feel really bad for the servers, because they are super nice, but they need to do something with that kitchen and the management, because she charged us fifty four dollars for 4 salad bars and I thought this was ridiculous, because we only ate lettuce, there was nothing on the salad bar. It was empty, but that's fine. I paid it and it'll be the last time they ever get a dime from us. So thanks again, who forever read this?

First trip down to Georgia in 15 years. Tried this place and to say it’s disappointing is an understatement. Waitress didn’t know half of the items on menu or what they were. Food was absolutely disgusting and overpriced.

Wow! It has been a 20 years seinse I have eaten at A Captain Joe's. I just had the salad bar only was good and due to nothing on the menu seems to be appetizing to me. The service was friendly. Thank you for having me.

Food is bad y’all, who steams shrimp with shells off? They literally taste like water. The salad bar was good. The fried food was completely unseasoned and just past done but not inedible. The only good thing about this place is the staff is so friendly and our server was amazing. Not enough to make us come back unfortunately.

Not a place I would go out of my way to eat at again. Had the fried flounder, fried pickles, coleslaw, hush puppies and fried mushrooms as an appetizer. I hate to say this, but the coleslaw had the most flavor of all. Everything else was bland, no seasonings. A bit pricey, too.

Ordered a steak rare, the first one came out well-done and this was what I was given the second time supposedly cooked by the general manager, extremely dissappointing.
