In town for the Deep Roots festival we happened upon Greenes...a funky fun eatery with the best fried chicken you will ever have. Pack a little patience as the team there takes time with every customer to chat them up a bit. 100% worth the wait, and you have to appreciate any good meal that you can enjoy with a glass of Tang!

10/10 recommend! This place is TOO CUTE!!! I went here with my partner for the first time, while we were out of town. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by friendly faces (Morgan & Kellen were so sweet), the restaurant is clean and inviting, the art on the walls are themed (to the name of the restaurant), beautiful artwork, and the food is fresh! Morgan, the amazing woman behind the counter, told us all about the restaurant. She gave us the full rundown and suggested different things for us to try. The chickpea salad was PHENOMENAL. Thanks Morgan! I’d eat the chickpea salad every day if I could. The food was so good that I had to save some for later, when we arrived back home! The leftovers tasted so good, just like the first time! They even offered dessert (different types of yummy pudding), shirts, hats, and stickers! TOO CUTE! I loved the front patio as well. Parking was right in front of the restaurant, was easy to find, & free. It’s a cute little restaurant that’s right in the middle of the town. Even the bathroom was themed! SO CUTE! If you’re not coming to Greene’s, you’re missing out! Thank you so much again!

The owner and his daughter were both here at brunch and took great care to make sure everyone was well taken care of. We had six in our party and everyone loved everything they ordered.

Not what I expected…but fantastic. It’s a combination of healthy, fresh veggies and other Southern staples—pulled pork, fried chicken, roasted chicken, and falafel. Served in a bowl. Vegetarian friendly. Run by a nice man.

Quirky take on southern cuisine--crossover between soul food and vegan. My husband and I really enjoyed it. Fabulous fried chicken! Can't wait to try something new next time.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the various options of fresh food

We got a variety of plates, but the smoked chicken sandwich mac & cheese, and potatoes were absolutely amazing
Also recommend the Alabama white sauce as it was some of the best I’ve had

Really fresh and tasty food here, I loved the squid okra which is pan fried okra cut .down it's length so it dries up evenly. The pulled pork was also excellent. Nice to find a healthy southern style option.

So, so, SO delicious! The edamame salad was crisp and refreshing, and the cucumber & tomato salad had a cool tanginess to it. Great summer lunch fare in those two choices. The fried chicken was perfection - tender, moist, and flavorful crunch without being too heavy. The lovely little baby biscuit was a tasty accompaniment. Sweet staff gave a kind welcome. Get your homegrown, homemade craving tastebuds in here today!

Just passing through Milledgeville downtown while traveling and found this to be a perfect lunch spot. The snack plates were the perfect size. Loved everything and service was a fine example of southern hospitality!
