I tried Mama J's for the first time, brought my elderly mom with me. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and very patient with my mom. The food was simple but delicious, just like grandma used to make. I will definitely be back.

First Time Here Traveling Through For Work The Energy Here Was Okay. Very Engaging Had People Greet Me & Some Man Kept Bothering Me Which Was Alright I Knew He Meant No Harm. Anywho I Got The Smothered Pork Chops Meal & My Friend Had Salisbury Steak & My Pork Chops Were Over Cooked & Dry Then My Food Was Cold. Our Mac & Cheese Looked Good But Was Dry & Cold. The Cabbage & Collard Greens Was The Best Thing & Warm. Overall Maybe I Caught Them On A Bad Day Idk Because Of The Reviews. I Just Wish This Place Would Invest In Keeping There Food Hot/Warm & Not Serve Over Cooked Food. I Paid $30 It Wasn’t Worth It.

This was my 2nd time to go out of my way when traveling through Milledgeville so that we could eat at Mama J’s. Definitely worth a little side trip. The food is delicious and the service is fast and friendly. The down home atmosphere is sure to please. The price was very reasonable and we had plenty of food.

Went there to eat with a friend and it was the best choice I ever made. Food was delicious, ALL of the staff was super friendly, and the prices was reasonable. I can't wait to go back. If you hungry and looking for good soul food restaurant that's clean and everybody is just so friendly, this is the spot. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Vegetarian options: Lots of healthy vegetables to choose from.

Kid-friendliness: Even though it's a soul food restaurant, they still have "kid approved" food.

Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant has plenty of space and "open" tables to accommodate wheelchair which is always a plus.

The food is so good! It is the best soul food in town. You can sit down and eat or if you are in a hurry grab a plate to go. Just get there early.

Floor was a bit sticky. Unusual for this place. It isn't anything fancy but it sure tastes like grandma's cookin'! It's always a pleasure.

Vegetarian options: Tons of veggies!
