Ryals Bakery has been a constant in Milledgeville for almost 50 years. Being a lifelong resident of Baldwin County, I have had the privilege of experiencing the delightful tastes of their extraordinary sweets for years. It is known especially for the signature 'Smiley Face Cookies'; but everything is so delicious. My last visit involved getting a few of these cookies as well as some cheese straws. Everyone deserves the occasional splurge! Go into Ryals and experience that wonderful smell-- and leave with some delightful treats. No tables in bakery.
We stopped by for our snacks for our vacation to the mountains! Delicious gingerbread man As always tried a few different cookies and they didn't disappoint!
Wonderful and yummy baked items.
People I've been going here my whole life and it's always good, brownies and blondies the best.
Absolutely love this store. If you're looking for something sweet this is the place ?
Perfect smiley face cookies
Wow the cookies at Ryals bakery are so delicious. Me and my sister Jackie always goes there when she is visiting me from our hometown. We love the raisin bars, chocolate drop, pecan Sandies, oatmeal raisin. Oh let's not forget the smiley face for my granddaughter. Ryals you all have good cookies.
Best bakery ever!! Love their smiley face cookies ❤️
Always beautiful and delicious service
I truly love the plain doughnuts here over Krispy Kreme. They are plain and simple and a good price. I always try to make it my business to stop if I'm in the area if time permits.

Best bakery in Georgia. If you enjoy real homemade sweets from the past you can not get anything better. Brownies, cakes, pies, cookies, gingerbread men, cheese straws, petit fors, and the famous smiley face cookies bring delight to anyone. I grew up here so nostalgia takes me hard when I see the sign. Nothing compares!!!
It was very good.
Great bakery goods.
We have always loved this bakery but this past Saturday, my family and I stopped by downtown Milledgeville for a treat and caught the owner as he was locking up. Not only did he allow us to come in (despite the fact that they had technically closed an hour earlier), but he was kind, patient (we have two young girls - two and four years old), and cheerful as he packed eight sugar cookies for us to take home. My girls also got a handful of plastic frogs which have been a highlight of their lives all week. Of the eight cookies, I think my husband and children each got one and I ate the other five (I'm 25 weeks pregnant and like to pretend these "treats" are for the kids...)...they were FANTASTIC! But truthfully, the sweetest part of our visit was the way we were treated. :)
Hometown great that's been in business for a long time. All sweets and desserts baked to perfection.
