The salads and dessert were excellent but the Bolognese lasagna left a lot to be desired. It was noodles, ground beef, then a touch of sauce and a ton of mozzarella on top, then broiled. Edible, but not even close to good lasagna.
We were heading to vineyard nearby and needed to take some dinner. We stopped in here and found a treasure for sure. Had a beer and garlic knots while waiting. Lovely man named Jay took care of us. Pizza was outstanding
This review is specifically about the La Pizzeria next to Cucina Rustica (see my other reviews for the main restaurant). Very happy with the La Pizzeria. Food is the same as the formal main restaurant but much more affordable & casual. Very good for Sunday after church restaurant. Went with my wife but the menu seems perfect for families with children & they had several tables for big groups. Meatball sub was tasty & chicken Alfredo had large portions & was clearly made fresh. Most entrees are $11-$15 with some closer to $20.
Waiter was very professional and attentive. Good not have asked for better service. Food was attractively displayed. Atmosphere was pleasant and conducive to conversation. Had a reservation on a Thursday . . . absolutely no waiting. One of the best part of eating at this location is that parking is available, unlike downtown Blue Ridge. For a special occasion, make it Cucina and ask for Jordan to be your waiter.
This restaurant has been patronized by my sister and her significant other for many years with rave reviews. I was visiting from out of state and really looking forward to the experience. We had a 7pm reservation and waited at the hostess stand for 15 minutes with absolutely no appearance from any employee. I finally walked into the restaurant and had to flag down a waiter to ask what was happening because there were approximately 15 people at the hostess stand waiting to be seated. The waiter’s response to me was less than cordial. 25 minutes later we finally got to our table. The waitress who seated us (yes waitress, there actually was not a hostess) told us they were backed up because patrons were taking longer to get up from the tables; in reality it was the slowness of the kitchen that was delaying everything. When the waiter arrived at our table he was about to take our order when we stopped him to say we’d like to actually see a menu before we ordered. We had to ask for water refills. The Caesar salads were delivered to the table at different times. We had to ask for bread and then again for the dipping sauce. We also had the ask for refills on Prosecco. We were sitting at the table an hour when it was finally relayed to us that the lobster that my sister ordered in her entree wasn’t available and would it be ok if shrimp was substituted (of course for the same price). When our entrees did finally arrive, the one entree was cold. It was sent back and returned still some what cold but the waiter did not return to inquire if we were satisfied with our meals. We were there for two and a half hours due to the slowness of the kitchen and wait staff. This for the price of approx $200 was not at all what I consider fine dining. The ironic thing was that as we were leaving the restaurant another long time patron was complaining to the waitress about the same issues we had also encountered. I would definitely save your money and skip this. There are plenty of other restaurants in Blue Ridge that are more worthy of your patronage.
Amazing! A jewel in the N GA mountains!
Couldn’t help but smell the delicious food this place was cooking up so decided to stop by for a nice dinner after a long day. Was warmly greeted by friendly staff. The manager Mandy was very nice on asking how I was and what her favorite foods were but it was my server Alicia that stole the show!!! She was fast, sweet, very knowledgeable and absolutely hilarious!!! THEEE most pleasant and wonderful dining experience I’ve had in a very very long time. Finally found my new favorite special restaurant to come to. Will be back with my friends and family, thank you so much for such terrific night and awesome hospitality!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The food tasted like it was pre cooked and frozen, not fresh. The beet salad tasted fresh, but pasta dishes were meh. The staff and atmosphere was very nice.
Once again, we had the most amazing meals. Brooklyn was an incredibly pleasant and attentive waitress. It has been consistently delicious and a relaxing, authentic atmosphere.
I've freqented Cucina Rustica since 2012 when we landed in Morganton and still it is a favorite. The ambience is comfortable and warm with Frank Sinatra in the background (perfect for the vibe). The food is delicious, the service top notch--all I can do is pray it sticks around! I ordered the mushroom ravioli like I always do, and like clockwork it came homemade bursting with flavor. We shared the meatballs and shrimp as appetizers and both were perfect. I love this place and can't wait to go back again.

We ordered chicken Alfredo, eggplant Parmesan, and wild mushroom ravioli with chicken and all dishes were less awesome than the last two times we were there. Chicken was diced and dry. Servers tried their best but were literally running because they need more help. The environment was very loud and it used to be a quiet little place to have dinner, we couldn't even talk and hear each other but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. Very disappointing.

My wife had lobster ravioli with some kind of fish in it that made it taste fishy and not fit to it. I had the veal parm. And the veal was so thin it was like eating a slice of prepackaged ham. Mostly bread with melted cheese over some noodles. Our server was fantastic, but the food was way over priced for what we ordered. Haven’t been in a while and will not return.
