We had been trying to catch this restaurant open. We finally passed through at the right time! And we weren't disappointed!The smell of the food greeted us at the sidewalk outside and guided us in! It was like walking into grandma's kitchen on Sunday.Everything we had was delicious, and the servers were so helpful to us, as this was our first visit. We had fried pork chops, turkey dressing, broccoli with cheese,rice with gravy, collards, carrots, and banana pudding.Now that we know the business hours, we will be back the next time we pass through!

If you're looking for some delicious home cooking, Goldens is where it's at. You honestly can't go wrong with any of their choices.The daily fried chicken is amazing. On Sun, Tue & Thur, they have Turkey & Dressing, my favorite. My husband likes the baked fish or meatloaf. The veggie choices are always good. They also have some cold salads and dessert choices. Drinks are also included with meals and they have the good ice in one of the machinesYou can call and hear the daily menu via recording and I believe kids eat free Mon & Wed with an adult purchase.Vegetarian options: There are multiple vegetable choices daily, along with a cold salad bar.Kid-friendliness: They have kids eat free days and also kid plates available which include a choice of chicken legs (2) or spaghetti.Wheelchair accessibility: The layout is spacious enough to accommodate wheelchairs.

Visit here often. Food is decent. Some staff don’t seem as friendly with certain people. I’ve witnessed it a few times even with my own child. I sent my child back to the counter to get a lid for the to go cup because the lady didn’t give me enough and instead of her giving it to him in his hand she dropped it on the counter and pushed it on the counter for him to pick up. Same concept as people not wanting to put money in a person of color’s hand. But the food is decent which is why I go. I just don’t understand why they given so little portions with a child’s plate especially with the rice. They give as little rice as possible with a child’s plate. Most times I just get an adult plate for my child. I just left and watched the parent in front of me ask for some more rice cause it was barely any on the plate. I’m sure they charged her extra for it. Like put a decent portion on the kid plate please. At least a spoonful. And yes parents can go cook their own rice but if we are paying for it at least give a decent portion. Might be hard to tell from this pic but that is about a tablespoon of rice.
