The breakfast was excellent which consisted of an omelette, oatmeal, and buttermilk biscuits. However, our waitress was not so welcoming without a smile or helpful with food selections. I would like to add the wooden bench at the table was very uncomfortable .

It is hard to find a place these days that serves a good, old fashioned southern breakfast. Look no further. JR's serves a great breakfast. I like Leonard's Favorite, which comes with a big pancake, two eggs, and your choice of bacon, sausage patty, or a smoked sausage. I have also had the country ham and red eye gravy platter. Fantastic. The dining room is nice. The service is great. They will have your food out quickly and they will keep your coffee cup full. A great place for families or to meet your friends for breakfast.

Good food pretty good service. Some great some ok service. I come here regular for lunch when I'm working in this area. I like the lunch specials with revolving side options daily. Around $20 with tip. More expensive than fast food but not by much and the quality is so much better. If you have the time afforded to you for lunch this place beats the alternatives in the area.

Do not get the brisket as it is the thinnest, driest piece of meat I have ever seen.

Breakfast was good overall. Sausage gravy pretty bland but that seems to be restaurant norm.

This is a very calming place to enjoy great BBQ, and other foods. They even have breakfast. Nice southern atmosphere. The workers are very nice, kind, with southern hospitality. We have our company meeting here every month. (Terminix) Thank you guys keep it going. ...1

Brisket was very good, potato salad was the best I’ve had since my great grandmother and the Brunswick stew was tasty! Good food!

The food was disappointing. The brisket didn't seem smoked. It was very much like my mom's roast beef: not bad, but not brisket. The French bread was like a crouton. It was so dry that it was crunchy all the way through.
The corn bread was similar, so dry that it turned into crumbs when you bit into it.
The sides were equally disappointing. I got onion rings. They were basically the onion tanglers you get on top of a burger: mostly dry batter. The coleslaw seemed to be just shredded cabbage with a little sugar on it.
From other reviews, it's obvious that many people love this place. Unfortunately, we had a very different experience. We will not return.
