Would like to know when they will open back up. Best food. Definitely recommend Brown Stew Chicken and Coco Bread

Yummy! I went twice this past week!I was skeptical because I've been trying spots lately after looking at reviews and was disappointed. Not here! Both times I ordered the brown stew chicken, mac & cheese and cabbage.Everything is flavored very well. I absolutely loveeee their mac & cheese and cabbage. These are the only sides that I can see myself sticking with. The chicken is good as well. The sauce is a little sweet, which I'm not a hugeeee fan of, but it works (if that makes sense lol). It's bone-in, which I believe is the only bone-in option (which is why I stick with it). Very generous portions, all for $10.99 (3 pieces of meat and two sides for what I ordered).Overall, friendly staff and very clean. I haven't tried any other options, but I might in the future.

I went here today for lunch. It was my first time. Pros: The food was very fresh and hot. The oxtails, plantains, and cabbage were very good, and it was so much food that I will eat the rest for dinner. The only thing I can agree with from other reviews is that the rice and peas can use a little more seasoning. However, it is still fresh and good. The service was very good as well.

Always a pleasant experience dining here. Not only is the food great but they are always very pleasant and friendly. I am happy to support this black family owned business.

Just moved into town, never tried Jamaican food before. I am now a believer! The J*** chicken lunch combo is ???!!! Sooo good. Even the sides have so much flavor with the rice/beans, cabbage, and potatoes. Will absolutely be coming back 10/10

This place is great, warm welcome, great food. Its very hard to find Jamaican authentic food. I can call in my order on my way home and its ready when I get there with no waiting. It's like a little slice of home, service with conversation and warm welcome.

Got the curry chicken, beef patty and j*** chicken patty. Before I ordered I asked how the curry was, and the lady told me pretty good. She was definitely being modest cause that was some damn good curry.

I ordered oxtails and I received rice and peas with oxtail fat. Looks like meat, but there was no meat on the bone; cabbage over cooked. Overall food was luke warm to cold. (All fat shown below) WILL NOT VISIT AGAIN!!!!

Big portions. Great service. My favorite Ackee almost every day. Ackee is one ingredient you can ONLY get from Jamaica, this is very important for Hope in island farmers future. Ground provisions available sometimes. Good energy to sit down and eat if you want. I like this place a lot.

Today was a hungry day for me, so I searched the net for Caribbean/Jamaican food (Specifically) Oxtails. And here I find MCKENZIE’s Island cuisine but of course I looked at their reviews to see what others said about the experience and taste they had after eating there. Many were very good… so that was enough for me to try them, and I’m glad I did! When I tell you from the placing of my order over the phone I spoke to Stacey… she is an amazing, patient and professional lady. She answered all my questions and concerns about the soup of the day (which I choose FISH SOUP)?, then on to my Oxtail meal. The plate was full barely cud close it and the taste was Soooo Goood! As you can see I couldn’t help but share a picture of what my order was, it definitely is enough for 2feedings lunch and dinner for ME! I highly recommend this Jamaican cuisine if you’re ever in the area for lunch/dinner.

Came her for lunch for a quick bite. The j*** chicken combo $15 was delicious along with a massive $4 side of Mac and cheese that could basically be its own meal. The mac and cheese was thick and creamy. The j*** chicken combo had rice and j*** chicken, potatoes, plantains, and cabbage. It was a bit on the spicier side but tasted great!

I passed by last week and made sure to return asap. So, I finally returned and decided to order oxtails. I called and placed a order which was said to be done in 8 minutes. It was hot/ ready when I walked in..cool. Inside was a gentleman who I told I had just called my order in. He was polite sitting behind the counter of this very well lit, clean cute lil place. There were a few tables to sit/eat. The bathroom sign said for customers only. I just knew the food would be fire/delicious! I ordered oxtails large and 1 kola champagne soda along with a bottle of scotch bonnet pepper sauce. This totaled $29 . I know prices are increasing everywhere lately so I'm not really upset about the price.. I'm just wondering where was the large plate of oxtails for $20. I only had 4 oxtails total that were just ok in flavor and minimum gravy over white rice. These new times with these crazy prices is making it hard to wanna spend money when your not getting your money worth. Last years menu says oxtails were $16 now they are $20.
