This place has the best chicken I have ever had!!
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find good food, much less good food at a reasonable price point.
My favorite part of the menu personally is the fact that they make all of their sauces in house, because no one likes watery ranch, and I honestly would come back for the sauces alone!!
Tori is the perfect fusion of Japanese and southern comfort food, to the point that there really is something for everyone. The mochi biscuits are one of the most unique things about the experience, and having the option of either sweet or savory is really cool.
You don’t expect such diverse dessert options, but the melon pudding is so good that you wonder why you don’t see it more often.
Overall, this is a place everyone should try, with the customer service and amount of care they put into their menu, I would definitely go back.

So to start, we were graciously invited to the soft opening of Tori, and I could not even begin to explain how fantastic this experience was. But I'm going to try, so bear with me ?

I initially thought this was in a food court of some sort, but it's housed in Gohan Market, alongside another absolute hidden gem I'll review at later date. Gohan is a lot to take in for such a tiny space, and they utilize it like you can't believe unless you visit for yourself... which after this review, I bet you will ?

Tori has a shared seating area with the other restaurant on site, and a bar area for added space. It's tight, but it makes the experience feel more authentic. The initial menu is attached to my review, and is delightfully easy to peruse as the amount of options isn't overwhelming. As a concept restaurant in a major city like Atlanta, their Japanese comfort fusion food hits every mark. I can only imagine the menu will continue to improve and evolve over time!

The main dishes are fried chicken, to include whole wings and thighs, and also a gumbo I didn't get to try during the soft opening. The fusion fried chicken is an absolute blast of flavor, and the perfect level of crunchy. I made an absolute mess trying to eat it, but it's worth it - the coating was exactly right for what fried chicken should be. The thighs were a little heavier on the breading, but also delicious - the family packs of each we bought proved to be far too much for four adults!

As for sides, they serve mochi biscuits! The honey ones are amazing, although we didn't get to try the garlic or strawberry ones during our first visit, as they weren't available. I fully intend to try the remainder of the menu on my next visit so I can better experience the variety of flavors they intend to open up.

For those of you not keen on biscuits, they currently offer a standard southern style mashed potato with gravy, a basic curry rice with good flavor, a lightly-flavored macaroni salad, and a coleslaw without gobs of mayonnaise for those like me who don't care for it. I tried it all, I enjoyed it all, and I would order it all again.

As for desserts, the soft opening did not include the strawberry cheesecake or peach cobbler, but the pudding? These guys took a southern classic, banana pudding, and made it with melon. The outcome is a refreshing twist on something you normally would never see reinvented - and it was fantastic. I can't imagine how the other desserts must be once the full menu is available.

Jacob and Joel, you guys truly outdid yourselves. From the food itself, to both of you being on the floor taking advice and feedback from everyone, to the smiles on your faces seeing your dreams come to fruition in front of you, it was a stellar experience. In a city like Atlanta that's oversaturated with fried chicken restaurants, I can't wait to see Tori take the main stage. Phenomenal job.

Street glow And lightning

Great hangout place, good food and great service. The freid chicken is excellent. Fresh and tender. The biscuits are very good tastes like moms biscuits with your choice of garlic butter or honey butter. And the peach cobbler was nice and hot. Will eat again even if I live 2 hours away
