Appetizers are super. Fish and chips too salty. Well done steak was burnt bitter. Kimchi lacked cabbage.
Make sure you have time when you come do not come in a hurry. The wait is definitely worth it its like they marinate every piece of food perfectly. Their bacon whisky is amazing and their food is out of this world 6 star if possible to rate that high. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is really nice.
A lovely ambiance, very trendy and modern. The staff here is incredibly encouraging and you can tell the most important thing for these people is to optimize your experience and make sure that you and your party enjoy the meals. Steak Tips were great.
Beth is the absolute best.
We had reservations at 530p on Mother’s Day the restaurant wasn’t that busy, our server didn’t greet us until 620p (yes I timed it) drinks took a long time too, food was mediocre, my kids actually went to the register to pay because our server never returned back to our table.
We came in with high hopes and a desire to support a local business, but unfortunately, our experience was overwhelmingly disappointing. Upon arrival, we waited about 5 minutes with no one at the host stand before the bartender rushed over to seat us. It quickly became clear he was the only person working; handling the bar, six tables, and all service duties on his own. He later confirmed he and the cook were the only two staff on site.
We probably should’ve left then, but we stayed to give them a chance. Sadly, things went downhill fast.
We started with the Chicken 65 appetizer, which was overcooked, dry, and completely bland, missing the bold seasoning that typically defines the dish. It set the tone for the rest of the meal.
The soda machine was out—we discovered this after being served both a flat Coke and then a flat Sprite. My Arnold Palmer was essentially lemon water—no tea, no flavor, just a watery mess.
The main course was the final straw. I ordered steak frites, medium-well with Cajun fries. What I received was a rock-hard, well-done steak and truffle fries. I sat for 15 minutes hoping to get the waiter’s attention to fix it, but he never came back.
We wasted almost two hours with no service, subpar food, and undrinkable beverages. And yet, we still tipped because it clearly wasn’t the fault of the lone server or the kitchen cook. They were doing their best under impossible circumstances.
This failure lies squarely on the management. The restaurant should not have opened that day. We won’t be returning.
Terrible service!!! My husband made reservations for our anniversary. We were “greeted” by a man with the personality of a rock. He sat us down and then came back over and abruptly put down 2 glasses of water. He put mine down so hard it spilled. I should mention I was very excited because last time we were there I had the mussels and gluten free carrot cake and it was delicious. The service was slow but at least we were acknowledged. This evening we sat there and I wondered if I had worn my invisible cloak tonight, but alas I had not! After 20 minutes of being ignored and another couple who came in after us was greeted and gave their order I was done. We got up and as I was walking out and the man who greeted and seated us watched us leaving and gave me the nod like he could care less. I get that things happen but that is unacceptable. There were several employees working tonight so it wasn’t a short staffed situation. It was a poor management situation.
Food and service are top Beth was the icing on our experience.
Disappointed overall. Ordered a steak medium rare, got it well done — and for the price, the portion was smaller than expected. The beef carpaccio was sliced too thick and completely underseasoned.
On the bright side, the cocktails were excellent, and my fiancée enjoyed her lamb dish. Service was friendly and professional.
Good drinks and service, but the food didn’t live up to the hype or the price tag. Probably wouldn’t rush back.
Delicious food, Beth took amazing care of us, we ordered bulgogi & the smoked salmon & it is delicious! Chef Tony is incredibly talented & I was so happy to see him & the menu is beautiful & unique.
Perfect little date spot, so cozy & beautiful decor.
I honestly can't say enough great things!
Go eat there right now!

Awesome place. Food was delicious. Drinks are great.
My family and I ate here for Eid. Every dish was delicious and the service was superior. Thx Andy and Beth
First time visiting The Alchemist and I must say I wish I would have come here sooner. Made dinner reservations and was greeted then seated promptly. Our server was friendly and attentive. We had the Salmon Chips which I really didn't know what to expect but they were AMAZING! Also had the raw oysters which were delicious as well. For dinner I had the fish & chips and my girlfriend had the salmon piccata which were both delicious. I definitely recommend stopping by and checking this little hidden gem out. We're already planning our next visit.
