H&W Steakhouse

I unfortunately had the absolute worst experience while trying to dine at H&W Steakhouse. My birthday was on March 26th and I tried have a dinner there with a large party. It was told to us that a minimum of $2000 needed to be spent in order to have 14 of us sit together. I let them know that a majority of my party doesn’t drink liquor so it would be hard to meet that requirement, however we would still like to dine there so I had 2 reservations under the same name for the same time. I was told we wouldn’t sit together, but upon arrival, they placed the parties on 2 completely different ends of the restaurant. After one group was sat, I asked if it would be possible for the other party to sit at any of the open tables that didn’t have reservations that were in the same vicinity. The answer was no even after they knew that that same day turned out to be a total disaster due to a multitude of personal issues that had come up (a death in the family as well as a recent cancer diagnosis in the family as well). Not to mention, at the table that one of the parties sat at, they had a stool for a seat at the edge of the table and I was informed by one of the managers that that shouldn’t have happened because there are many other chairs in the back that could’ve been brought out. Now at first, I was going to let it go, but because there was a huge lack of sympathy on my actual birthday and a clear motive of racial discrimination, I needed to write this review. After one party ordered and purchased their drinks, we decided to go to a restaurant that could accommodate our needs and I was charged a $700 cancellation fee! It couldn’t have been a cancellation when the party was present and has receipts for their drinks. I had asked if I could move the reservation to another day to avoid this ridiculous cancellation fee or to even possibly give my reservation away. The private dining coordinator said no and said there was absolutely nothing she could do for me. I know again that this was something that didn’t need to happen in this manner and you would be able to see on the cameras for yourselves how civilly I handled this situation when I was clearly just not wanted at the establishment. It was a truly disheartening experience, especially while dealing with a slew of family issues and all I wanted was to have a wonderful meal with the people I love to help make it through the evening but I had to leave even more emotionally scarred. I have been given the run around for the last 2 weeks! I can’t get in contact with corporate to receive a refund or to rectify such a grotesque error on this establishments end. I have tried to handle this in a very manner able way, but it looks as though this has to become more public than necessary as I have also left out a few disturbing details. If you want a truly nice dinner for your birthday and end up running into haphazards that aren’t your fault, do not count on this establishment to be understanding in any way. I have many witnesses willing to also back this story and share their experience as well. I’m very disheartened that this had to go down this way and praying for a quick solution.

Everything was jus excellent. The food, the service, the live music. What a great evening. Will keep coming back when we are back in Atlanta area.

This is an amazing spot from the staff to the food to the atmosphere… Celebrated my 30th birthday this past weekend and I must say that is a 3 hour drive I would definitely take again.

I was disappointed. We made reservations and we still waited an hour. The food was just ok. The steak or lamb chop didn’t have much flavor. The crab cake and bread was the best part of the meal.

I ate dinner there last night. Food was great, service was outstanding, the space was beautiful but it was SO LOUD. I had to put ear plugs in just so I could tune out the others diners and focus on my table. It’s like they designed the whole place so beautifully but never considered acoustics. I was hoarse when I left just from trying to converse with the people at my table.

I attempted to plan a birthday party with a large guest count. Their event manager Mariana Bicker, replied to my inquiry outside of their allotted 48hr max with confirmation that the booking was available along with the necessary information then proceeded to never respond to my multiple messages to confirm via the contract and card payment requested. The day of the event, Ms. Bicker the event manager replied stating that they no longer had space for the booking but would make space for the following day. Completely unprofessional and I can only imagine how many guest they’ve missed because of her inability to do her job. I will not ever dine here nor will I recommend. I would however love to recommend Cuts Steakhouse downtown who after hearing of the situation made space in the requested time so that we could salvage such an important event.

We had a large group for a birthday celebration and it was great. Taylor, TJ, was the best server!! The food was amazing and they made the celebration very special.
