Taqueria del Mar

A new name under (presumably) new management. An empty dining room with only one person working. Priced too high for quality of ingredients. RIP TDM.

This place is now called Chuy’s Taqueria, but not the Tex-Mex chain called Chuy’s. They said it’s under new ownership and they have a food truck by that name and they’ve merged the concept with the previous Mexican restaurant that was here. Since it’s a taqueria, I just wanted to pop in for some to-go street tacos. They were good, but at $4.29 to $4.99 per taco, you can get the same quality much cheaper, especially for taco Tuesday, and they don’t have any specials. $5 is pricey for a food-truck style street taco. I posted pics of the new menu for easy reference since I couldn’t find it online.

The food is carelessly prepared. The beef brisket is too salty, and they don't add chips and salsa to carryout orders.

The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is that I am a long time customer, and the food used to be good.

Quality of the food and overall dining experience has dropped markedly in the past 2 years. Sadly, we will not be returning. There are just too many alternatives with comparable (or better) prices and a better product.

Terrific, authentic Mexican restaurant! From their salsa, queso, tacos, and yummy sides, it's all so good. My husband loves their Po Boy (w/xtra sauce) & Philly Cheese tacos. I love their Del Mar Queso dip with the delicious meat trio. Their guacamole is so fresh and tops off all dishes!

Very bad experience, I smoked for dinner and we ordered some fajitas and they had meat ? and they are really Mexican ?

Change of ownership. Price of tacos has doubled one taco is 8.99 when they used to be $4-5 a piece. They now include beans & rice in that price but sometimes you just want the taco. Should serve tacos al a cart. Lights too bright need to be turned down. Servers didn’t know how to make a virgin margarita…

Unfortunately what used to be a great neighborhood taco staple has changed.
