Strangest experience we've ever had at a Captain D's, with the car in front of us hooting and hollering, and some girl inside speaking some sort of strange language and guffawing loudly through the speaker. We waited during the entire exchange but it never ended and, as we were the 5th car in line with no end in sight, decided to move on to the next Captain D's.

This place is SEVERELY understaffed. To the point where we had to wait 45 minutes for our order and customers had to take restocking the bathroom into their own hands. A sympathetic woman who was dining in had to replace the paper towels herself because the 2 cooks and 1 cashier were insanely busy and fell behind on orders. Napkins weren't being restocked as well. It's expected by now that you yourself have to clean the filth off of tables before dining in because of how cheap the franchise owner is. Even the car line hardly moved from when I came inside and left. Shame on this franchise owner for penny pinching, this location is horrible. I'm sure my critic will be passed on to the staff, but this isn't on the staff, dysfunction like this is entirely on the owner.

The Perry Captain D has continuously get people inside who want to dine in or take out and when they do they say their not taking orders this has happened multiple times the dining area is always dirty you have to clean a table yourself if your lucky enough to get waited on. I would tell everyone to boycott the Captain D in Perry Georgia the owner should be stripped of the franchise and the building torn down because if you can’t serve people and keep it clean why are you in business but notification to the health department will take care of that. Boycott Captain D in Perry Georgia

Ok let me explain those of you who follow me know I try to remove emotions from all my reviews. But being a small business owner myself i understand times can be challenging. But to refuse to take orders because you are overwhelmed is unacceptable. Let's keep it 100 everything is fried at captain D's .
This just speaks to me of poor management or a lack of experience starting from the top.
A 1 star may be excessive but when I'm traveling my expectations are simple.
Let me get in and out in an efficient manner.

As a fellow General Manager in the food service industry—specifically in a location that also offers drive-thru and mobile ordering—I understand the challenges that come with managing peak times and ensuring a smooth customer experience.
That said, my recent visit to this Captain D’s was disappointing. The total wait time in the drive-thru exceeded 30 minutes. I’m usually patient, and I genuinely enjoy Captain D’s, so I don’t mind a bit of a wait. However, what happened during this visit was concerning.
While I was waiting over five minutes at the speaker to place my order, an SUV behind me drove around and cut the line. When I asked through the intercom whether this was normal procedure, I was told it was their General Manager “dropping off some stuff.”
Eventually, I placed my order and pulled forward—only to find the same SUV still at the window. They were handed food and continued chatting with the staff, which further delayed my ability to pull up and pay. I asked, “Does your GM also cut the line for food?” The employee replied that she had “ordered ahead” and that everything is prepared in the order received.
As someone who leads a team in this industry, I found this behavior unprofessional. Regardless of whether an order is placed ahead of time, if a customer chooses to pick it up via the drive-thru, they should wait their turn—just like everyone else. And if the order is ready and the line is long, the appropriate action would be to come inside for pickup, not disrupt the drive-thru queue.
This may seem like a small thing, but optics matter—especially when it involves leadership setting an example. Unfortunately, this experience reflected poorly on how this location is managed.

OMGOODNESS!!!
Ordered fresh fried fish, hush puppies and coleslaw. The fish was amazingly fresh, hot and crispy and mouthwateting delicious!
The coleslaw was perfect and the hushpuppies were hot crispy and fluffy!
The ladies providing our dine-on service were immediately greeted us as soon as we entered the restaurant and were very friendly and courteous!
I definitely recommend this restaurant!!!

Food was good and correct but they need someone to work on customer service and how they talked to you when ordering and act like it’s a inconvenience to be here and order almost drove off this is the second time here and both times the same unacceptable.

Really good soup and key lime pie. Good food at what is now a reasonable price. Handicap access could be improved.

My wife and I were waiting in line behind one couple and a young man. The girl behind the counter took the young man’s order then said out loud. It’s time for my break to a coworker. She then got her purse and walked away from the counter. Leaving two couples, two men and two other women standing in line to order. To make it worse, the manager in the kitchen ignored us. No acknowledgment. No apology from the manager just poor service. I know this is going to sound crazy but no one came to take any orders for nearly ten minutes. We finally left.
Food is good, but the two couples in front of our two orders and the family behind us, the food orders, were all messed. There is no sense of urgency from ANYONE in the restaurant. The cashier was polite and friendly but was slow. Maybe she was new and still learning, which is perfectly fine. However, that was the atmosphere from all of them.

They really hate their customers here! Last Thursday evening I came in and ordered at 9:45. There was nobody else in the restaurant and only two people in the Drive-Thru. What I ordered I told her that it was for dine in. Well it took me 10 minutes to get my food, then I sat down to eat. At 9:59 some woman named Kamika with a nose ring said they were closing and that I had to leave. Every other establishment I've ever been in in this situation will lock the door and let you finish and they'll let you out. I told her I would be finished in probably 5 to 10 minutes but I wasn't leaving! What was their response? THEY CALLED THE POLICE ON ME! Yep they took the time to call the cops. So I was mostly finished about 4 minutes later figured I'd made my point, as I was pulling out the police were turning in. I made it a point to turn around and tell the officers exactly why they had been summoned. One just shook his head... Eat here at your own risk.

This place has some serious issues! Today, it took over 15 minutes to get through the drive thru with only 2 cars ahead of me.
A few months ago, I went in the restaurant to experience a cook telling counter help to stop taking orders. Took over 30 minutes to get our food, totally unacceptable. During that time, we saw the cook in the dining room taking a break. Major staffing issues that need to be resolved! The manager must be clueless to allow this cook to be employed. Very disappointing!!
