I ate at the Piedmont tonight and I have to say, I was served probably the absolute worst chicken dish I have ever eaten in my life. I am 52 years old and I’m a military veteran and I have been all over the world. Hands down the absolute worst chicken dish I’ve ever eaten. I had the smothered rosemary and garlic chicken and it had NO seasoning on it at all. My daughter and I both had it and neither of us finished it. We even let some of our friends at the table try it and there response was, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best, what would you rate it? Everyone who tried it said a 1. With tip I spent $100 on a horrible meal. The buffet food was terrific from what I understand. Everything that my family ordered off of the menu was flavorless and disappointing.

Our group consisted of three sisters celebrating a milestone birthday which I mentioned in the reservation. When we arrived at the table there was a birthday card waiting for my sister which was a very nice touch. The service throughout the evening was impeccable, Misty was attentive without being overwhelming. The food was delicious. Our entrees were the ribeye, trout and tortellini with shrimp. Everything was cooked perfectly and the sides were tasty as well.

Servers were wonderful, attentive and went above and beyond for our group. The salmon and asparagus were cooked very well, but seriously underseasoned. I am not sure why there was a cold, and undercooked, orzo salad under the salmon on a hot plate. The breakfast buffet was absolutely lovely with plenty of options.

A perfectly pleasant place to have a meal while you're staying at the gardens. It's very bright and the food is very good. There are vegetarian options.

We were highly disappointed. We had the impression that The Piedmont would be an upscale dining experience and it was not. We drove five hours to celebrate a birthday. We provided detailed notes in the online reservation expressing the occasion as Open Table requested. I emphasized we are vegetarians and would like the shrimp and grits made with veggies instead of shrimp. When we arrived, I asked if the notes were seen in the reservation and Marlee said, “Yes.” However, none of these notes seemed to matter. We asked 3 times about the birthday note to no avail. Then suddenly, a cake was taken to another table and Happy Birthday was sung there to a group that arrived at least thirty minutes after us! We kept dealing with items that were not correct being brought to us. We were frustrated and so was our great server, Ms. Bobbie. We gave her a tip due to her service but not due to the mediocre food and poor attention to detail and lack of fine dining experience. We will visit Callaway Gardens again but not The Piedmont.

Went to Piedmont dining room for Thanksgiving buffet -reservation for two. Very disappointing. Turkey was COLD and rubbery, gravy was also cold. They said someone forgot to turn on warmer??? Green bean casserole good. Dressing fine but went back for more and that batch undercooked. Salmon was good at least but not the food of choice for Thanksgiving. Also, no mashed potatoes. Shocking! Mediocre desserts couldn't save the day. So sad! Beautiful ice carving and excellent service (although bill had to be corrected). What could've been! Ugh!

Thanksgiving disappointment. My parents and I used to frequent Callaway’s Thanksgiving Buffet years ago when it was still in the “old” inn. That food and service was always superb, so when my family decided to skip cooking this year and head to Callaway, I was expecting 5 star service and food, especially for $75 per person.
For $75 a person, they couldn’t even be bothered to put water glasses on the table or to bring us our drinks. Some guests had glassware to drink out of, but others, us included, had plastic cups to drink out of, like we were dining at a fast food restaurant.
My husband asked for salt and pepper as there was none on the tables. There was a small shaker of each at the buffet. He brought them to the table, only to be harassed by the “server” who said she had to return them to the buffet table. Salt and pepper shakers can be purchased on Amazon for about $2.50 a set. Surely Callaway Gardens can afford that!!!
The food itself was flavorless slop that looked a lot like what you would find in an 80’s era elementary school cafeteria. The dressing had a brown/overcooked top layer and the cranberry sauce was pure liquid. The sweet potatoes were the consistency of apple sauce with no flavor. My favorite thing from the entire meal was the Caesar salad. My husband’s favorite
TATOR TOTS.
Oh, and also, after they tacked on a “banquet fee” the meal was $100/person. We go out to nice restaurants frequently, and have no issues with paying for quality meals, but this was not even remotely up to the Callaway standard.

Everything about the food and service aspects of the experience was good. What we didn't expect or appreciate was being told the price per plate was what it was only to have the cashier tell us that there was an additional charge of $25 per person and she couldn't explain what that charge was for. I always tip generously so if it was a gratuity for the servers they came out smelling like a rose. Next year make it plain what your price is going to be including any extras you plan on charging us for.

We had a great experience food was excellent from turkey and dressing, ham to snow crab legs and even sushi. Such a variety of food from traditional to non traditional. Beautiful setting and food for all ages highly recommend!

Not enough staff, servers. Loud. Out of main menu item, fish, at 5:30 pm. Pork was not served with the side requested. Chicken not well cooked. Overall bad experience. I could go on and on.
