The food was OK. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad in any way. The portion sizes are a bit small, but specifically the appetizer we ordered, fried pickles, was crazy small. We received exactly 13 fried pickle slices for our $8, which is .63 cents per slice. I only counted because it looked half empty and it was a pretty small basket already. The kids menu is pretty good and affordable though.
The service wasn't amazing either, but wasn't terrible until I asked about the hidden 3.95% fee they add without any notification on the menu unless you pay cash. The menu doesn't state there is a 4% charge for paying with a card, but they just add it on to every bill and then take it off if you pay cash, as a "discount." When I asked about that and stated it was illegal, they got extremely rude and snippy, even a bit short with my children, but they didn't notice thankfully. They eventually did take the fee off. What they should do for it to be legal is list it on the menu where it's easy to see, like at the bottom, or just bake that fee in and then they can legally offer a cash discount...because it WOULD be a discount. Anyways, I won't eat there again, but it was clean and the food was fine, and came out quick enough.

Parking: There is plenty of parking, but, at times, you may have to circle around and look for a spot.

The food is awesome! I always get the cheeseburger with a side of fried pickles and my husband can’t go without getting their fried jalapeños! I often crave their cheeseburger it’s so good! The atmosphere is always fun and entertaining. I also always feel safe in the fieldstone commons area!

My wife and I went to The Village Goat this evening, and it was remarkable. Exactly what we have been looking for in the Chickamauga area. We only had appetizers (Wings and pretzel bites) and a couple of cocktails, but what we did have was excellent. Stephanie (the owner) made us feel right at home and treated us like friends that have known each other for years. Great atmosphere as well. It is the perfect little local watering hole, especially when you don't want to deal with the crowded hassle of Chattanooga. Stephanie instantly gained 2 new regulars tonight. We will definitely be back frequently!

We love the Village Goat! Best fried mushrooms around. Very friendly, and trustworthy staff and business owner. I left my pocketbook with quite a bit of money in it. When I called they said they had already put it in the safe. It is hard to find people that trustworthy these day. If you haven't tried it you are missing out.
