I use to come here weekly when it was great China. Decided to give it a try under the new owners oriental place and I recommend everyone run far away especially after seeing reviews that i wasn’t the only one. I was so sick with food poisoning I told my coworkers i couldn’t continue the food because it tasted disgusting and like medicine then boom i was sick as ever

EDIT: the companies response to everyone that’s getting sick from them say’s ALOT about this place. You need to see medical records in order for you to provide fresh food? I will be contacting the health department and better business bureau.

IF YOU HAVENT BEEN HERE YOU HAVENT LIVED!!! The food is absolutely amazing and the staff made me feel so welcomed and understood. When I first came in I was greeted with a kind hello. I took a while to look at the menu but the lady working the counter didn’t make me feel rushed or anxious instead she smiled and explained what all of the options were. I also have severe allergies that I have to make aware whenever I eat at a public restaurant which can sometimes make the staff annoyed or frustrated. I was swiftly reassured that there would be no cross contamination and all of my food would be safe to eat. I would definitely recommended getting food from here if not for the incredibly flavorful food, the warm and friendly environment.

My wife recently placed an order here but had to cancel less than 20 seconds later due to a sudden family emergency her father had a stroke and we needed to take him to the ER. Instead of understanding the situation, the employee on the phone pressed her with questions and then abruptly hung up.

When we returned another time, they admitted they purposely delayed cooking our food “as punishment” for that cancellation. Unfortunately, this unnecessary action caused my wife who works at the local hospital to be late for work.

Over the years we’ve also dealt with undercooked chicken, food that tasted “off,” and consistently rude phone interactions. While we had hoped things were improving, this most recent experience was the last straw.

We will not be returning. For those looking for excellent food and respectful service, I recommend Happy Wok across town, run by a hardworking family that truly values their customers.

I write this review as I'm home sick with food poisoning from eating here.

We've been eating here for years. Back when it was Great China it was awesome, hardly ever had any issues with anything. Now that it's been sold to new people the prices have gone up more than a little, spent over $30 for two people, and sadly the quality has taken a nosedive.
The dish I ordered was new to me from this particular restaurant, one of the ones added by the new owners, but not anything I've never had before. I was hoping for a new favorite, but it was oddly tastless except for the weird fishy taste which is definitely not how a beef dish is supposed to be. Ate less than half of it and was sick within 30 minutes.
Also my SO wants me to mention how they do not fill their baggies of crispy noodles that come with soup up even halfway, as compared to how Great China used to actually have enough in them to go with the soup.

I really do miss the former owners, it felt very abrupt when they left. I hope they are doing well with whatever adventure they're onto now.

We tried Oriental Palace in the hopes it would compare to Great China. Service was great, the food was not.
Our orders of General Tso's Chicken and Sesame Chicken were both huge let downs. The General Tso's was bland and had some Chicken that was dry and reminiscent of meat that had been heated more than once. The Sesame Chicken tasted off, as in spoiled meat off. My husband threw it away to avoid gastro issues.
I know kinks have to be worked out with any new restaurant and I hope improvements will be made. We'd love to see the new owners succeed.

This place is hands down the BEST Chinese food in Floyd county!!! I’m usually not big on Chinese food because it’s never really good, but I couldn’t get enough and ate my food until I was ready to pop!!! Will be back for more for sure!!!

Great China was my go to Chinese restaurant. Today was my first visit since the change. I won’t be back. More expensive, mainly noodles (lo mein dish), and extra charge for using a card!!

This place recently changed names but not sure if that means new owners too. Tried them twice since change and it's not as good. Fortune cookie and chips that go with soup were stale. Wings not nearly as good as before and were almost cold. This was my go-to for Chinese.
