Eat here for fish and shell fish. We here almost every time we go to Rome, GA or Cave Springs. It is very clean and generous. Two can eat on one order. It is usually quite here. So, don't go telling folks our secret. Best Fish anywhere near Gadsden!

My wife and I stopped here on our way through town primarily because of the good reviews. We wanted to try the fried green tomatoes. I must say they were very good. The service and the food was excellent. The food came out quickly. We had fried green tomatoes, fried okra, hush puppies, and an amazing Philly cheesesteak sandwich! Highly recommend! Also, very reasonable prices. The gentleman was kind enough to give us a free appetizer and drinks since it was our first time there.

We pulled in and decided to take a chance on a local place we haven’t heard of. This was the best food and experience I’ve had in a long time. The owner was extremely gracious and offered my family a free appetizer, which we didn’t expect, but were thankful for.
We had: fried jumbo shrimp (huge), grilled fish (delicate and perfectly cooked), gumbo (made fresh daily and full of ALL the good stuff- seasoning was balanced and honestly the best gumbo I have ever had), red beans and rice, hush puppies, fries, salad, slaw.
When I say it was all good- I mean literally everything was fantastic.

This counter- service restaurant has nicer employees than so many table-service places. I would come back here just for the smiles and cheery, caring words! I tried several of their menu items: Fish and shrimp, chicken livers, and cheesecake. The whiting fish was prepared in corn meal, so it was crunchy. The shrimp batter was much more chewy, though good. The giant shrimp themselves were cooked to perfection. The chicken liver, served with ranch dressing, was scrumptious. And then to the cheesecake.... absolutely delicious, and a fine topper for the meal. All in all, this restaurant is a keeper. If you like food that isn't greasy, check Sam's out!

First visit and did not disappoint! Shrimp po boy and fried shrimp dinner was fantastic. Hot and fresh. Service was awesome and free drinks since it was first visit. Wish we lived closer !

Wow! I had the pleasure of eating here on a recent Saturday evening. My wife and daughter wanted to eat at a nearby restaurant. I saw this place across the parking lot and decided to give it a chance. It was a very good decision. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly young lady at the counter who took my order. I seated myself and waited only a few minutes for my food. I ordered the shrimp po boy and fries. Absolutely delicious! I have ordered po boys in Louisiana that didn't pack the flavor of this one! And the fries were just out of the fryer and properly seasoned. A pleasant guy (owner or manager, not sure) made sure that I was satisfied with everything and was very attentive to every customer. This place is a gem! I visit Rome several times each year and this will be my go-to restaurant on every trip!
