El Porton Mexican Restaurant

Excellent food and service

I visited El Porton for a late lunch while waiting for my car to get serviced and my experience was mixed. Their pros are amazing staff & fast service but food needs a major makeover to get to 5 stars.

They had very attentive staff who never left any customer unattended. I got lost finding the restroom but a staff member who was eating, still took the time to point me in the right direction.

Ambience was very casual. Although I loved the outdoor barrel seating, I settled for a seat next to the bar. While waiting for my order, I was served the crunchy & yummy chips & salsa. They were too addictive:)

And the Taco salad arrived within 15 minutes. It looked cute with the piped whipped cream and neatly plated taco.
Here's the but: Taco salad tasted bland, chicken was chewy, the shell was soggy and lacked flavors. It was surprisingly disappointing as until then, the restaurant had checked off every other box.

Food's the main reason why customers frequent restaurants, so I really hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improve the quality standards.

Pretty standard Mexican fare, which means it's good, just not incredible. It's close to my work so I'll be back.

This was our first time visiting the place. The waiter was very good and the food was great. I loved the robot that brought over the food. Will definitely be back.

A great spot for Saturday lunch with some friends and our kids! The pitcher of Texas Margaritas was perfect to share amongst 5 of us, and the combo fajitas were delicious! The kids especially got a kick out of the robot food runner.

Missing the authentic flavors , have had better Mexican food.
Waited 35 mins at the table to get our water wish the service was little better /faster.

Cheesesteak burrito is the same as 10 years ago! Service was a little lackluster but great overall.

Cheese dip was half cold the nachos were no joke 6 chips but $17
It was so cold in the restaurant from fans over tables that were not clean

BEST ENCHILADAS IN TOWN!! This has been a family favorite for years! Never a a bad decision to choose El Porton!!

We wanted to get a good lunch before a concert and we decided to try this place..... we were glad we did!
Love the decor and the robot that lead us to our table and then later delivered our food was great!!
The food was exceptional. The seafood burrito was packed with shrimp and tilapia, so good. My chicken poblano was excellent!

Went to have a drink and an appetizer before a concert at the Ameris amphitheater, this ended up taking an hour. We order a total of 2 margaritas 2 beers and 1 app. We saw our server a total of 2 times. We ended having to eat off of napkins because we could not get our server to come to us. We of course did not leave a tip because of the terrible service we received .On top of all of that we came to find out a couple days later that our server added his own tip of 8$ on to our bill. We have spoken to the manager and we received a refund for the tip.
