We had dinner here for my husband's birthday. It's always a favorite. The restaurant texted me ahead of time to clarify my seating request. Justin was our server and he was good at being there when we needed him and leaving us alone when we wanted privacy. It seemed busy for a Wednesday night but that made the ambiance even more fun.
We tried the lamb pappardelle, the mushroom ravioli, the pork osso bucco, and the duck pasta dish. Everything was delicious and we all cleared our plates, but the mushroom ravioli won "best dish". We took our waiter's recommendation for wine and were very happy with that as well. Dessert was great and the cocktails and bar selections were wonderful too. It was my birthday and the staff signed a little card for me! They went above and beyond, we will definitely be back.
Had a lovely birthday dinner with my wife and three friends. Our waiter Sam was excellent. He took great care of us and served this beautiful food. You have to try the ribs, the Wagyu, lettuce wraps, the octopus, all of the entrées were delicious. I had the mushroom ravioli, and it was delicious.
We recently found this restaurant and took our friends back Friday night. It was very good with quiet, competent service and nice entrees though perhaps just a small step down from our first experience. Overall it remains a wonderful find in Alpharetta and we'll be back. Primary reason for 4 vs. 5 stars was just the noise level (Friday night and the place was hopping). Just makes conversation or even hearing the waiter a bit of a challenge. At any rate, highly recommend.
We decided to eat at the bar. Bartender was great! Halibut and Hanger steak where delicious
Disappointed, this being my second visit and had obviously made better food choices during the inaugural experience. The mussels were tiny, lost in the broth, albeit the home made potato chips were excellent. Duck for main which was tough, with one of my guests politely not getting past one mouthful. Ambience including bar area, and service were good.
Our favorite dishes were the lobster pasta, the duck pasta and the crab salad deviled eggs. All so very very good!
I had the mushroom ravioli which was excellent. The others had salmon and steaks which was good but not exceptional. Atmosphere was nice. Outdoor patio wasn't open because it was raining, but that's a nice option for good weather.
We ALWAYS have an exceptional experience at FSE! Last night we brought 2 couples who had never been before and you all made believers of them! Thank you for keeping delicious and beautiful food and beverage at the top of your list. We loved every minute and can't wait to come back soon! And thank you Chef/Owner Mel! You, Sir, are legendary.
Great service and food was very good. Enjoyed the drinks and appetizers. I think they could make it a better value for the money but overall food was very good.

The dinner far exceeded my expectations. Great food beautifully presented with attentive staff and great surroundings.
We had a fabulous dining experience this past weekend at FSE. The food/drinks were outstanding & our server was very helpful & patiently answered all our questions regarding the menu. Highlights of the evening were the kabocha squash w/ burrata, crab deviled eggs, catch of the day, hangar steak (the rosemary fries were AMAZING!!), & chocolate passion dessert. A highlight was having Chef Mel come out to our table to check on us & treat us to an explanation of the many steps to make their delicious fries. His excitement, passion, & pursuit of culinary excellence was evident. He even waved goodbye as we left. Highly recommend for a night out in downtown Alpharetta!
I rarely post comments on restos but this place is a true outlier. In a word, Foundation Social is absolutely outstanding. From the moment we arrived I glanced at the bar as a famous resto critic once said “you can tell a lot about a restaurant simply by their attention to detail” and I witnessed a bar tender hand-squeezing frequently lemons. I inquired what she was squeezing fresh lemon juice for and her response was “any drink that requires it”. So this informed me that this is a special place indeed. EVERY item we have ordered was OUTSTANDING. From salad to dessert was a rare (and these days non-existent especially in North Fulton). I'm not overly negative just a bit tired of mediocre (mostly terrible) restaurants. Well folks, I'm happy to say there is hope. Go to Foundation Social and order anything on the menu and prepare to be shocked by some of the the best food you will have in Atlanta. I did and I plan to do it again VERY SOON. This place is a fantastic surprise. It's a husband and wife run place which explains a lot (most restos are run by people who go live in another state and IMHO should not be in the business - but be thankful the Owners of Foundation Social are deeply engaged and are real pros. Only negative is that no other place I know of in north Fulton is remotely as good. GO HERE ASAP AND PREPARE TO ENJOY!!!!
I'm not really sure what happened. We have been to FSE multiple times and each time we knew it was pricey but we left satisfied . The prices have become unjustifiably high and the portions are minuscule. It's almost insulting. $7 for 4 small slices of toasted bread ?! My husband had four and yes, we counted them, mushroom ravioli, floating in a foamy soup for $30. My friend and I each had a 2“ x 3“ piece of sea bass sitting on top of very, very salty cannellini beans for $44 each. I felt horrible as I chose FSE for a night out with friends. They were mortified by the prices and the quality and value of the food. Service was fine. But as someone who has worked in the industry for decades - I will tell you people are more cautious with their spending than ever before , and to see a restaurant fairly empty on a Saturday night is a huge sign. Sadly, we will not return.
Outstanding food and service!!! We will be back. The part of the restaurant we were in was more brightly lit vs the other areas that had a bit darker, cozy atmosphere.
