Coastal Bar and Grill

This is a hidden gem. Please don't let the Bar and Grill in the name fool you. This isn't your typical bar and grill .The service was great. The food is excellent at this place. The meal started with fried lobster tails and fried calamari that was fried perfectly. For dinner, the Red Snapper was delicious. The Star of the Meal was the Seafood Risotto. This was the best Seafood Risotto I've ever eaten, and it was at a bar and grill. This is definitely a must try. Thanks to the staff and the management team for making my visit to the Coastal Bar and Grill a great experience. My apologies for not taking pictures.

Knowing this establishment since it's opening, my wife and I have visited a number of times over the years but never really found the food and overall atmosphere to be what Bill had built and refined on Paper Mill. Seeing all the new marketing materials, announcements of new management and new menu along with the great pictures of clothed table tops, we decided to give it a try once again. Let me say in advance, I cannot understand for the life of me why anyone would want to be in the restaurant business! Any restaurant! Also know that we always want restaurants to do well and be supported by the community but our experience this past week was nothing but disappointment. Yes the paint is fresh and the waitress engaging thou only a temp in that someone didn't show up, the food was just plain bad. I have never had Chicken Fried Chicken with a three inch bone on top of mashed potatoes and gravy that appeared to be nothing more than flour and water. All for $23.00 We sure miss the old Houck's and many of the great watering holes in the area that used to serve a great meal for a reasonable price. We walked out $68.00 poorer and left half our meals on the plates. No one even asked why the plates were still half full. And if the chef is going to come out and greet and meet the customers, make sure someone in the kitchen knows the drill and it would leave an even better impression if the Chef's Whites were actually white. Sad results after all the hype and expense.

Our kids’ band camp concert took place here. Loved the food and service. Bartenders are so nice. All of the food we ate was delicious. So thankful they allow Thunder Road here in the summers!

We had an event here at Coastal and it was legitimately the best experience ever. Katelyn and Molly were fantastic to work with and were so kind, professional, attentive, and thorough. The food was absolutely amazing! The filet was so tender it was like butter! The appetizers were luxurious and well presented. You could tell the chef took great pride in the meal he prepared. Everyone else who had the salmon and the grilled chicken said they were good as well. Several people said it was the best salmon they ever had. The drinks that were crafted were top notch as well. We will definitely have more events here and will come for dinner and lunches as well. Best party I've ever been to.

We came for the Thunder Road Music School concert which was a blast. Our waitress was not friendly, not helpful, not attentive, our order was not correct, we never got our drinks and lastly, she kept the change from my cash payment which resulted in a 35% undeserving tip. I wish we had had one of the other wait staff that we observed being hard-working. Sorry for the gripe, but on the upside keep supporting this great music school that is building self-confidence in young kids.

Had the grouper and it was really good! My server Melissa was the bestest most awesomeness server ever! Very attentive and super friendly, clearly this woman knows what's she doing. I would recommend Coastal just for the service she provided, but the food is good too ;)
