Great place for hangout and drink... I can not recommend pizza... for $17 pizza not worth it. Much rather go to Antico for pizza. You get a large pizza for about $22 with much better quality and taste.

My wife myself and a friend meet for dinner here this evening. We sat outside and our waitress was Logan. Everything was great to start, we got the garlic rolls and the calamari both of which very good.

As we conversed we noticed Logan hadn't checked on us in awhile and we were ready to order. Eventually we flagged her down to order and got the side of ranch my wife wanted with the calamari. We ordered our dinners and I got a drink. As we were waiting we noticed Logan was sitting down talking with a table we assume were her friends (no big deal we understood as it was getting towards to end of the night and she didn't have to many tables left).
Once our food arrived as they were placing it down she asked how it was and if we needed anything else. Of course we didn't have a chance to try anything as the runner still had half the food in his hands but we did not need another condiments as many standard Italian additions are already on the table (Parmesan, Red Pepper, oils etc.) Normally not a problem as we were expecting to enjoy our meals, unfortunately the Seafood Cannelloni I ordered tasted rather funny. I thought maybe the drink I had was interfering with my taste buds, but both my wife and our friend also tried it and came to the same conclusion. My plan was to mention something when Logan stopped by to check on us again, however that did not happen for another 20 or so minutes. Once everyone else had finished their meals. I could see in the distance Logan was at the same table talking with her friends again. Eventually, she noticed none of us were eating and she got up and asked if we wanted boxes. I mentioned I didn't enjoy my meal and she stated I should've said something earlier (unfortunately I never got the opportunity like I planned to). I said I was not interested in ordering anything else or any desserts. I was hoping that the meal would be removed from my check since no more than 4 bites were taken but it was not.

A combination of the lack of attention to service, the comment about not saying anything sooner (when no chance was giving) and not removing the meal for the check are leading to the length review. Overall we were rather disappointed by the time we left Ipp's and don't plan on going back with all the other options on Canton St.

Would highly recommend Ipp's. Also you should definitely try the baked canneloni. To die for. Garlic rolls are delicious and so soft, fresh! I will say like some of the other reviews the wait can be long but we'll worth the wait! We had a long wait because we wanted a low table outside so it also depends what you are looking for.

Have been to most restaurants down Canton street so was excited to make my way over to Ipp’s! Have heard wonderful things of their Garlic Rolls and they were amazing. I got the Pesto Cellentani and it was phenomenal! Finished out the meal with their tasty tiramisu. Only downside of Ipp’s is that they do not take reservations, so be prepared to wait if you are going at a busy time. I waited around 60 min for a table for 2 on a Saturday night. Other than that I loved my experience here!

Updated review:
Been coming to Ipp's for the past two years or so now and it has always been great! From the servers, to the management, to the food. This last visit, I just sp happened to lock myself out of my car, it was late, the restaurant was closing, but Jason, the manager, insisted I wait inside where it was warm until AAA could arrive. I just want to give a heartfelt thank you to Jason. You absolutely went above and beyond, and your graciousness is truly appreciated. I'll surely remain a loyal Ipp's customer, especially after this!
First time visiting, on my birthday, my date and I were very pleased. I had the Cellentani Cream Pesto and he the Tortelloni Bolognese. Both dishes were delicious, as were the garlic rolls. Our server Kaitlyn (sp?) was great and so was the birthday cannoli she brought me. We will definitely be back.

We had a really nice experience on a Sunday night at Ipp’s. The food was delicious and the tiramisu was enough for three. The service was a little slow and lackluster, we had sat with empty water glasses for most of our meal and they weren’t filled until dessert came out. The girl was nice but was never in the section even for us to be able to wave her down if we needed anything.

My husband and I dined at Ipp's on a Saturday night. We were seated quickly and our waitress was fantastic. The cocktails were just average. The building was cute but it was very loud. The food came out very quickly but the flavor was a big disappointment. My husband had the risotto. It lacked seasoning and was very bland. I ordered the calzone with sausage. It had an almost comical amount of ricotta and almost no sausage. Overall a fairly disappointing experience.

Wish we could've sat outside but the wait was too long. We had a party of 6 people and there was no wait for the indoor area. This place was recommended by our hotel. We started with garlic rolls, to die for! Don't be afraid to try their spay oil to dip. Then we got the Pepe(sausage rolls). I ordered the egg plant Parm and shared it with a friend, and got to try the chopped Italian salad for her plate.. both dishes were perfect, made from scratch, not too salty or sweet. The portions are gigantic! Beware of over ordering. We all got so full that we took so many leftovers. But the way they heated was so good. I tried the pesto cellentali cream pesto with chicken. Loved everything here, the service, the ambiance, the food tasted like it was cooked by an Italian grandma!

This place is a delicious and lively place to dine! Garlic rolls are a must and the first round comes automatically. I’ve had several different pasta dishes and each one has been cooked perfectly and coated in delicious creamy sauce. I recommend the Cellentanj Cream Pesto. The sandwiches are also amazing.

I've been a fan of Ippolitos for years and decided to give Ipps a try on a Sunday night. Upon arriving around 6, we were told there would be a 15-25 minute wait. About 30 minutes later, I saw that there were a few empty tables on the patio which hasn't been cleared and several available inside. After I had popped inside to check, I was texted that they were ready for us and then had to wait another 5 minutes for a table to be cleared.

The food is great, but they are obviously short staffed. Our waitress realized we had been waiting at the table for a while and put our order in quickly. The food arrived timely, but then it took a while to get boxes and our check.

It was nice to try a new place, but a 2 hour dinner outing with a child isn't going to work for us. Maybe again when it's just the two of us.

I was also surprised that nobody else was helping out at the tables to refill drinks, etc. it seems like the staff can be doing more to help out.
