To preface, I have never written a negative review before. We visited this restaurant just before covid and wow, what a different experience we had tonight. Aside from the Bao, the limited menu was basic Chinese food options - nothing unique like you see in these reviews. The worst to me was spending $70 for my husband and I to go to the effort to dine in and support local business and then be served our cocktails in plastic cups and our meals in to-go containers. If I knew that was case I would have just done take out and stayed home. The only employee in the place we saw was the bartender/waitress/hostess and, while attentive, she seemed annoyed that we were there bothering her. The men’s restroom had feces all over the toilet and when my husband mentioned this to her she told him that “that’s not my job. It’s a male employee’s responsibility” and she has no idea when it was last cleaned. Very sad that the owner/management wasn’t present and doesn’t care anymore. Just stay closed for dine-in and only do takeout if this is the dining experience you want to deliver.
We had high hopes but were disappointed. Given the other reviews it must have changed management. Quality of ingredients was low, nothing like even an average Asian place. even after leaving most of our appetizers and entrees uneaten, no one cared to even ask why, or if it was ok. didn’t seem to care. Spicy Hunan beef had no spice, fried beisel sprouts were burnt, greasy and no taste but char.Hard to even pay for that but I did. Sad
Staff coming in and out of the door talking loudly, not wearing masks, had to go wait outside in the rain. Food was inedible. Cold noodles with a scoop of unappetizing shredded meat on top. We threw most of it away. I'm sorry for the effect this year has had on your business, but we definitely won't be back.
While I love the original takes this place makes on typical Chinese food dishes, however so far my experience has been very inconsistent. Food has either been swimming in grease, or completely over seasoned. The seasoning (and use of butter) isn’t just aggressive, it’s 3x more than necessary- especially with all the noodle dishes I’ve tried. The lo mein I tried yesterday was so spicy, it made my lips hurt, and stomach burn. I’d be happy to pay the higher prices, if they could reign in their flavors more. Other than being salty, the short rib fried rice is tasty. The chicken wings are not as good as I thought they’d be, and their presentation looks blah when ordering takeout.
I love to support local businesses but I can't get on board with this one. Maybe it was a bad night for them, although they weren't that busy. They brought someone else's food to our table, I had to take it back inside and tell them we got the wrong order. They brought the right order to our table and never returned. We were there for 1.5 hour and never had a drink refill. We did tell our server we were leaving unhappy and she was sympathetic, but at the end of the day we won't return.
Had a awesome experience here with my kid. The food arrives quickly and the customer service is just great. Prices are fair.
The 3 day swings & egg rolls are fantastic! We really enjoyed the General Tso’s & crispy chicken fried rice, too! Very fresh & tasty. We ordered through Door Dash. We’ll be ordering more & we look forward to sitting down with a cocktail again soon!
Has its own parking, albeit small. Usually a smaller crowd as it's off the main strip but easily walkable to it.Drink prices are surprisingly very reasonably priced. Take advantage of specials.Food is above average but not really much "wow" factor having tried the honey sriracha wings and Dan dan noodles.Still, 5* from me because it manages to have good prices on drinks and isn't super crowded while still having a good location.
My new favorite local eatery. Amazing owners who care about high quality hand made dishes. The flavors are familiar but have an extra uniqueness. Really brilliant. Quaint dinning and nice cozy outdoor seating. A must try.
Excellent wings. Like, seriously excellent. Chef is extremely talented.

Great service and very accommodating with pandemic restrictions. We felt very safe.
Although the portions were quite large, the flavors of each dish was lacking. Everything was okay, but each dish was missing something.. I also became ill the same night I dined there
I really wanted to like this place. We like to support the small local outfits. Unfortunately we weren't wowed. The food was average, which would have been ok if it wasn't also expensive. Where as a lot of Chinese places have the entrée in one box and then rice is a separate smaller box, our meals were combined and we felt that we got mostly white rice with a little bit of meat (beef & broccoli), chicken (sesame chicken) or shrimp (shrimp fried rice). I could have gotten more meat for 1/2 the price at other local Chinese resturants.
Decided to have an impromptu dinner this past weekend and stopped in, not realizing the power was out.
We had a very nice takeout dinner from Shanghai! We will definitely add this into our rotation. The owner was very nice and hopefully we will be back to dine in soon!
