We have been eating at Barbara Jean’s in Ponte Vedra for about 12 years when we visit our son in Jacksonville, but we’re terribly disappointed after our experience tonight. We weren’t acknowledged for 15 minutes & had to ask someone if our table had a waitress before a server came to our table. After receiving our drinks & ordering food, it took 45 minutes to get our food. My food was cold, but we had waited so long with 2 small children, that I just ate it. Our server was sweet, but she rarely checked on us, took forever to bring the check, & never brought the box we asked for. Then, to top it off, they charged us for a salad we didn’t order, so I had to go back inside to get that removed . Basically , we were there about an hour & 45 minutes, for a cold meal. So disappointed.
BLT was awesome! Corn bread was awesome! Awesome wait staff!

Amazing food and service! Everything was top notch and I plan on returning. I got the crab cakes and there is a reason they are famous for them YUM! Bread was delicious along with dirty rice but chocolate stuff was the winner OMG!

I ordered the BLT without the chicken and they piled on extra bacon. The BLT was huge and delicious. I had a side of ambrosia salad and it was cold and so good. I really enjoyed all the food. My son had the dirty rice side with his shrimp and there was so much, he couldn't eat the fries. Our waitress was fantastic and friendly. Would recommend this place very much. Only thing was it is looking a little tired but is clean.

I lived here in Saint Simon's Island back in the very late 70's.
I decided to return after many, many years on a healing journey.
First, I would like to say that the Island is just as laid back and beautiful as ever but lots of changes of course.
I decided to try 'Barbara Jeans' for lunch yesterday; I was overwhelmed.
The spot was easy to access as was the parking.
Upon entry of the restaurant, the waft of Southern Cuisine alerted my taste buds. ?
The place was clean and very spacious.
The server was most polite and seemed to be working a lot of tables at once yet doing a fantastic job.
The menu was diverse with many yummy choices to choose from as well.
I chose the turkey and dressing, cranberry, and squash casserole for my entree_
Beforehand, I was given a basket of breads consisting of pumpkin, yeast rolls, and the very BEST jalapeno cornbread ever to enjoy with my side salad.
There was enough food for lunch and I enjoyed the remainder of food even more for my dinner.
This will be a 'must stop' every time I come back to visit my beloved Saint Simon's Island, Georgia.
Keep up the amazing job Barbara Jeans_
This meal was the cherry on top of my healing journey.
Praise GOD be the glory! ?
Highly recommend.

Visited this place while on vacation as we heard alot about it. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. 4 of us ordered all different dishes and to even say we enjoyed them would be a lie. Ceasars dressing tasted like watered down mayo, pork chops are a joke( wish I took a picture) couldn't have been a 1/4 thick when you put the 2 of them together. For a place known for crabcakes, better find a new recipe, they lacked flavor. Never again! Server was very rude and not friendly at all!! I recommend you go else where, not the homecooked meals they advertise.

A local friend brought me and I came for the crab cake to determine my wife's fascination since she from MD - it was good, but I should have gotten the patty vs the burger. In the end it was great regardless

My niece, Sister, Sisters MIL and myself went here for lunch today, Friday October 18th. My sisters MIL had the she crab soup and a house salad which was a lot of food and she said it was all great!! The rest of us had the crab cake sandwich. It was AMAZING!!!! Definitely going to eat here again when we come into town. Worth it!!!

We ordered the cod fish meal. This was by far the best cod I've eaten outside of Atlantic Canada.

One of my favorite island restaurants! I sat outside on a small streetside covered patio. Service was quick and friendly. Food was great! They brought me a bowl of 4 types of bread while I waited on the crab cakes for lunch. Cakes were great as always!
