Food was delicious but server had weird energy. Felt like she was trying to get me out of there quickly.

We’ve been going to St Simons Island for years only to go to Catch 228 for the first time. It was a terrific island experience. The shrimp my wife had and the fish I had were both fresh and excellently prepared. Service was attentive without being overbearing and pushy. We’ll be back often as we make this a part of our restaurant rotation.

Waited over an hour to get our food that never came. The waitress was too busy fluttering with another table to wait on us. I will never go back.

In short, not great. We were looking for dinner options on a very crowded spring break evening. This was third on our shortlist. On arriving at the restaurant it did seem busy but also severely understaffed. We waited more than 5 minutes to be greeted. We were told the wait would be 10-15 mins. 20 mins later they said another 10 mins. 5 mins after that we got our table.Food was pricey for what the restaurant felt like. It wasn't good either. The fired items were bland and seemed the batter wasn't seasoned at all.The only thing we enjoyed was the dozen oysters (which were raw, so no chance to mess them up).For a party of 3 we were auto charged 20% gratuity.Service was okay not great.Won't recommend

I’m not one to write bad reviews but feel it’s necessary to let others know our experience before spending their money here. We were seated immediately but it took a while before our server came to the table. He could have told us that he would be with us shortly but we were wondering if there was a server assigned to our table at all. The water smelled and tasted terrible! My husband ordered wings (all flats) and a Caesar salad, daughter ordered wings and Caesar, I ordered Fish & Chips with a side of slaw. It took a while for the food which was fine but my husband had to ask for their salads. The salads had a tiny bit of dressing, stale croutons and tomatoes. Caesar salads shouldn’t have tomatoes. My husband got his wings (flats and drums), my Fish & Chips had no “chips”, fish was soggy and had a strong smell, the slaw had no mayo; it tasted like just shredded up cabbage. I asked for the chips that went with the meal which I never got. Our meal was $69 and I’ve had better fish & chips at Long John Silvers. Save your money! I think this place is more for drinkers to hang out at the bar, it’s not the place to go for a good meal.
We visited twice while in St. Simons Island. Both times it was for happy hour. We sat at the bar and both bartenders were very attentive. The drinks were good and the oysters were delicious. We would visit again.
