We have been coming for years! Always great food!
Tonight was so disappointing without the owners there. Pasta served on a pan full of olive oil that I had to literally drain onto another plate. The over cooked pasta was burned by reheating in the pizza oven. Again when I politely mentioned it I was immediately dismissed and told this is how it is and the 1/2 inch of olive oil was from the pesto sauce. He did not even offer to fix or comp me. I paid and on the way out watched him throw the phone after he announced a customer was calling about becoming ill after eating their pasta.
To the owners, careful who represents you when you are not there…a reputation can be easily ruined.

Vacationed on St. Simon’s Island from Bristol, Tennessee! I travel a lot and go to plenty of different restaurants so I can truthfully say this place is authentic, clean, and AMAZING! Our waiter Arthur was truthfully the sweetest and kindest soul. Arthur made sure we had our drinks filled, food at a timely manner, and the people coming in had their to-go orders the time they showed. Arthur, buddy. One day that resultant will be yours & I hope I get to watch your passion succeed and soar as you get older! Thank you again.

CJ’s Italian Restaurant on Saint Simons Island was amazing! The food was some of the best Italian I’ve ever had, the restaurant was spotless, and the family atmosphere made it even better. Our waiter Arthur was wonderful — friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel special. You can tell Arthur really cares about his guests, and we appreciated that. Thank you, Arthur, for making our night at CJ’s so great!

Best pizza and best vibe on the island with all the cool ethos one could possibly want in their local pizza joint. And don't sleep on the spaghetti and meatballs. Huge portions of both good food and good attitude - Saint Simons institution!

Ok it's all about the deep dish pizza. So good! I've lived in a lot of good pizza cities and CJs deep dish ranks up there! We actually ordered it twice in one week.

Kid-friendliness: They give the kids dough to play with which is cute.

Ordered to go, first time (embarrassed to say) to get food from here.

When I went to pick it up I immediately noticed how similar of an environment to neighborhood New York restaurants. It was comforting to my brain nearly blew as I said I am definitely gonna come back here and eat in the restaurant

We ordered a extra large pepperoni and meatball. The crust is what I call Sicilian.

I was born in Brooklyn and this is the style you would see in the Italian neighborhood.

The pizza looked like it did when I was a kid growing up. There is a place named the spumoni garden in Brooklyn.

Its an An institution that has been around since the 1930s. Incredible place, grandma used to order Italian ices that were delivered to their brownstone by horse and buggy

An institution that has been around since the 1930s. The pizza that I purchased brought back memories when I looked at it and took in the aroma.

I have not seen that style in such a long time, kudos to you.

I would definitely have rated the Pizza five stars however I am a pepperoni freak. I don't believe anything else belongs on a pizza.

Though it was on the order it never made it to the pizza. That was a huge Bummer to me.

So just just meatball pizza it was. Yes I was bummed, seldom have I had a pizza with no pepperoni

Last thing we had was the Greek salad, which we both truly enjoyed. Their house dressing is very, very good and the greens on the salad were fresh, crisp, and it tasted great. Excellent salad

We had breadsticks which I did not try. My partner did and he truly enjoyed them.

Overall, it was a very take out dinner (make sure you tip the cooks). We will definitely be back to order takeout, but more importantly, to eat in the restaurant to experience what they do

I wish I could leave a negative star review. I have lived in glynn county for my whole life and have never heard of CJ's Italian restaurant until tonight...I wish I could go back to not knowing about this place. We went during dinner tonight 7/18. It was a little busy but we were able to find a table easily. After sitting for about 5 minutes, I saw a waiter walk by. I asked if we would be presented with menus he immediately barked back with that he was busy and someone would be with us. I had no clue how things worked since it was my first time there. Another customer heard him say that to me and she left almost instantly. We finally got a waitress to attend to us. We placed our order for drinks and food. We both ordered meatball penne pasta with a house salad. Never once did we receive refills on our drinks. We actually didn't see the waitress at our tables again until I asked for a box and the check. Overall the food was good but slightly mediocre. The meatballs were tasty but weren't cooked in the sauce like you would expect. Everything was just thrown together. The pasta was wet and it watered down the sauce. I really wanted to like my dinner tonight but the poor service really put a damper on the whole experience. I guess it's because it waitress didn't have a problem taking to customers at other tables while shunning us at ours. CJ's, I know you can do better. I really want to give you a second chance. Maybe I'll wait for winter to visit again when it isn't tourist season.
