Kudos to our chef, food was phenomenal... service was a litte off putting. Roasted oysters - OMG, beyond delish, juicy, buttery. Hubby's fire roasted chicken also a hit, super favorful - cooked perfectly. Definitely gonna give it another shot. Cocktails 10/10.

Five stars across the board! My husband and I spent a week on the island and had to visit Dorothy’s a second time because the menu was delicious, the vibes were great, and the service was exceptional!

Across the two nights we had many of the menu items but our favorites were the hamachi, the tuna tartare, and the curry fish special. Both Leah & Janessa were behind the bar both nights and we couldn’t speak higher of them. Even during a crazy busy night - they were personable, attentive and educated us on the food and cocktail menu. Partnered with their bar back Sam - we always had our plates cleared, waters full and fresh silverware. I’d be remiss not to mention the cocktail we both couldn’t stop ordering - the El Mariachi. If you like Mezcal, you have to order this drink!

On our way out, we chatted with the host and a server wrapping up their shift and the way they spoke highly of the restaurant & were passionate about what they had to offer spoke highly of the management team and the culture they foster. This spot is truly a gem on St. Simon’s and we will be sure to come back on our next visit!

Folks, I could not be more pleased with my visit to Dorothy's. We ordered several items. All were both seasoned and cooked to PERFECTION. The wait staff was attentive, actively checking on us. We had a late reservation and showed up early. The staff was happy to accommodate. I could not be more pleased with the decision to dine at Dorothy's. We each had the prime ribeye. These are NOT cheap. They ARE DEVINE and you pay for it. THEY ARE WORTH EVERY CENT!

I have grown up on the island and Laya, Sam and Janessa (bartender staff) gave 100% the best customer service I have ever received. Go and visit!

Our server was so knowledgeable and attentive. She knew everything about the menu, as well as the wine, very impressive.

First off I would like to start with our server (Breno) was great! The management of this restaurant is consistently poor. Last night, We had a 6:30 reservation and did not get seated till 7:15. 7:00 reservations were seated ahead of us... Once we were finally seated my husband ordered a drink from the bar and it took 30 minutes for the drink to be made and delivered to us. During our entire time here the manager did not once come over and ask how anything was and seemed completely unaware of the issues we had had that evening...even though he stood right beside our table when he wasn't attending to other guests. We were never acknowledged. This is not the first time we have had difficulties. Every time we attend we end up being seated 30+ minutes after our reservation with no real explanation or solution given, it is extremely frustrating.

The shrimp ceviche, scallion pancakes, Szechuan noodles and Fired Fish were all excellent. The brussels sprout salad was ok but a bit heavy for our liking. Service was excellent. Seating was a little tight as they had tables for 2 in a line so there were couples within about 2 feet on both sides of us. However we enjoyed talking to a young couple next to us celebrating their anniversary as we were.

Although we had a reservation for over a month, we weren't seated until 45 minutes after the time for our reservation. There is limited area to wait and getting drinks at the bar was near impossible. Once we were finally seated, the service and food were excellent!

My wife and I chose Dorothy's on St. Simons Island on June 21, 2025 to celebrate our anniversary. We had never been but had heard good things about it and it had good reviews online for the most part. The “TL;DR” is really good food, great waitstaff, inadequate portions, poor atmosphere, and woeful restaurant management. I will begin with a disclaimer that we are not super-demanding patrons but we have been blessed to enjoy some of the finest Michelin Star restaurants in the world. St. Simons is a small market but the clientele here is fairly sophisticated. I really wanted Dorothy's to be excellent. Our server, Chelsea, was wonderful; attentive, helpful, engaging, charming, and a good listener. The restaurant really needs to address the way it manages reservations, music and room temperature levels, and availability of menu items. We had to put a credit card in to secure our reservation but when we arrived for our 7:15 reservation, the table wasn't available for 10-15 minutes. We were seated underneath a loudspeaker and a massive HVAC vent. We couldn't hear one another (from 3 feet away) and it was far too cold. We were able to get the dance beat volume turned down some but the air was never regulated. I also noticed several tables of patrons were asked to move in order to make room for incoming reservations. The maître d even asked us to “wrap up” in exchange for free dessert to make room for another large party. We had been waiting for our check for 15+ minutes because my wife was freezing! I had read another review of this happening but I thought it was highly unusual. This is a really tacky move for a restaurant of this purported caliber. The cocktail menu is very extensive and the specialty drinks were fabulous. There were 3 or 4 items on the menu that weren't available including signature tuna tartare, steak kushiyaki, salmon roe, ... and it was only 7:30. We ordered salmon crudo, pork kushiyaki, Szechuan noodles, shrimp ceviche, and fire roasted fish.
