Dorothy's Cocktail & Oyster Bar

We ate early to take advantage of the Happy Hour menu pricing. The smash burger and Brussel sprout salad were excellent. The wine menu is much more limited than the cocktail specials. The restaurant wasn't very busy and service was average. We did not feel rushed and enjoyed the ambiance of this very stylish restaurant.

The specialty cocktails and the food are awesome but what makes it completely delightful is Eta! She is hands down the best at her job - friendly, knowledgeable and just a delight.

Great service - a little long wait for food but it was a great group so we were entertained - amazing food and service.

We frequently go to Dorothy's when we are in town. The manager, Raymond, is super knowledgeable about wines and the foods they serve. He is excellent!

Dorothy's has been a favorite “date night” spot but last night, it was just okay. The food was okay (the fish was a little fishy and the chicken was a little dry) not the usual wow. Our server, Hunter did a good job but the pace overall was too slow, considering it was a Tuesday night and there were only 3 other tables to serve at the time. Maybe it's an Open Table thing, but there's a place to include notes when making a reservation and my notes were not acknowledged by anyone at Dorothy's until my husband mentioned it to Hunter. We were celebrating our 35th anniversary. He apologized for the miss and offered us dessert to take home as a consolation, but we passed.

The service was perfect! The food was delicious! The bread pudding is beyond description! BUT..... my birthday was days ago! My friends happened to mention this and I got a birthday card signed by the whole staff! That was so sweet! Dorothy's has become my favorite restaurant, for this full time resident!

Great food and cocktails. Love that there is a mix of adventurous and simple dishes for all of the group to enjoy.

Our family of 4 loved everything about Dorothy's! The food was amazing and so different. Our favorites were the grilled caesar with chicken, raw oysters, fried rice & roasted chicken. Our waiter from Brazil had great recommendations for cocktails/dinner & provided excellent service. We will definitely return!!

Cocktails are A+, fresh excellent ingredients with a huge variety. Loved the unique menu with lots of small plate options. Smoked oysters a must order.

One of the BEST meals we have ever had!! Chelsea was fabulous !! We loved everything we ordered. We had a party of 5, ordered lots of different things and all shared. It was a wonderful dining experience.

OMG, the best dining experience I've had in years. The vibe us exceptional, the food was amazing. Everything was so tasty and vibrant with unique flavors. The staff was friendly and did a great job. Our server was great. They have an excellent but eclectic wine list. We will return. Simply amazing.

Absolutely try the Chicken. It is cooked perfectly! The Pork Shank was fall of the bone delicious. The Red Curry Fish had such incredible flavors! Mocktails and cocktails are created beautifully. One of our favorite spots on the island!!

One of the worst experiences. The hostess forgot about us and we waited outside for 30 minutes past our reservation then when we came in they said they had a private party and we could not order apps and a dinner. So we only ordered apps. We felt kicked out. The manager came and apologized gave us a gift card but worst experience. The food did not seem fresh at all and the drinks meh. I will not go back ever despite the gift card.

Kudos to our chef, food was phenomenal... service was a litte off putting. Roasted oysters - OMG, beyond delish, juicy, buttery. Hubby's fire roasted chicken also a hit, super favorful - cooked perfectly. Definitely gonna give it another shot. Cocktails 10/10.

Five stars across the board! My husband and I spent a week on the island and had to visit Dorothy’s a second time because the menu was delicious, the vibes were great, and the service was exceptional!

Across the two nights we had many of the menu items but our favorites were the hamachi, the tuna tartare, and the curry fish special. Both Leah & Janessa were behind the bar both nights and we couldn’t speak higher of them. Even during a crazy busy night - they were personable, attentive and educated us on the food and cocktail menu. Partnered with their bar back Sam - we always had our plates cleared, waters full and fresh silverware. I’d be remiss not to mention the cocktail we both couldn’t stop ordering - the El Mariachi. If you like Mezcal, you have to order this drink!

On our way out, we chatted with the host and a server wrapping up their shift and the way they spoke highly of the restaurant & were passionate about what they had to offer spoke highly of the management team and the culture they foster. This spot is truly a gem on St. Simon’s and we will be sure to come back on our next visit!
